I think that according to the law, you have to turn in money found. However, I will keep my opinions to myself on this one, as not to self incriminate myself, if I do find a bag one day...LOL I did this poll because of something I responded to in another thread. How many on-line players are here?
BobP Like I said, more power to you. I worked with guys in Vegas who were in Vegas simply because the sports books demanded cash, they themselves knew bets over the phone got them in trouble. And Monday night as the worst, (the bookies best night by the way) because everyone is trying to make up for Sundays losses. The guy betting $55 on Sunday games is now betting a nickel ($500) on Monday trying to catch up. People like to think this won't happen with lotto or online but talk

Re: the offered to quit playing lottery thread
There's a poll about if you were offered $1,000,000 to quit playing the lottery, would you? Made me think of this story, true story, on a smaller scale: One of the casinos I worled in had football contests every week, for $5 pick 14 out of 14 and win $25,000, for $10, $50,000. One of the security guards played a $5 ticket, and has all 13 right on Sunday. So now, if he hwas the right team on Monday night, he wins $25,000 - if he has the wrong team, he gets nothing. What pro gambler

betting online and your financial outlook
Quote: Originally posted by bellyache on July 14, 2006 I voted no to the poll. I don't bet online so it really won't effect me, but that doesn't mean I want the ability to play online to be taken away. Ah those hard times, those post-Y2k survival challenges. An anecdote concerning online casinos, and what's likely to come of this legislation: A few years ago, 2003, maybe, a meth-cook named Dan Shaulis, from over in the East Mountain, whom I briefly thought was a friend (that's

Poll - PB & MM vs a National Lottery
Heck Coin Toss, Any votes at all comes as a surprise to the old guy who started the poll. Thanks for the post. At the moment my wiggling antennae tell me I'm personisimo NON gratisimo grande. Some of my posts are quite possibly responsible for the breaking of a sensitive heart because they were seen as pure D meanness. Which has never been seen nor heard tell of before on LP. Personisimo non-gratisimo grande. Heck, here I was thinking I was too old, that I'd broken my last hea

illegal immigrants poll
Looks as though the poll's running 2/1 in favor of making them get someone who's inside legally to claim their wins in their stead. yes they should be able to[ 43 ] [30.71%] no they should not be able to[ 87 ] [62.14%] not sure at this time[ 10 ] [7.14%] However, since: They're 'dishonorable', (quote-unquote csfb) unlike the folks who pointed out that illegal aliens ain't honorable, They're rowdy, which good legal residents are not, (quote-unquote csfb),They're

illegal immigrants poll
Interesting poll. Not so much where illegal aliens are concerned, because they're everywhere in overwhelming numbers doing jobs US citizens don't want to dirty their hands with. Moot point, however. For more than a century this country's been talking the talk about illegal immigration, but not walking the walk. We can all sing from the same songbook about it, same song as our fathers and grandfathers sang, but the government will continue to give it a wink and a nod, same as they did i

A look back at the North Carolina lottery in 2005
After a more than 20-year battle, lawmakers needed a tie-breaker to finally pass their lottery bill. When they got it, opponents quickly cried out. I think we have one senator at home recently being hospitalized in bed we have another one who is on his honeymoon because he postponed it, said N.C. Sen. Andrew Brock, R-Davie.But N.C. Gov. Mike Easley, a long time lottery supporter, praised the new state game. Today I sign the North Carolina Education Lottery Bill and today we begin building one N
