Ohhh that is smart. Park all the money with the investment firm while you decide what purchases or other investments to make. Then the money transfers for purchases will show the source of funds as being from the investment firm. People will just assume you made your $ from investing or family wealth.

I do but I get something out of it. Spending five dollars on a slip of paper that has virtually no chance of winning is not happening. I don't give money to bums for the same reason... a total waste of money.

It is very easy to avoid paying taxes on lottery wins. Have a winning ticket? Burn it! I've got an even better idea, and if I win the 860ish million cash I expect at drawing time my federal tax bill would be way less than the $318 million some people would pay. But how many people are really that stupid, that they would turn down a large amount of money just to avoid having to contribute a portion of it, as much as 37%, to the treasury? Is that rhetorical? yes it's called the 777 came out in the pick three and they had to pay out too much money! So they go to what they call garbage numbers so that people won't be expecting them and they don't have to pay out as much money! That's just my opinion.
