Texas trust claims second half $1.8 billion Powerball lottery jackpot
Did the winner have to form a trust to claim the prize? There's no reason that a winner would be required to form a trust or an LLC to claim a prize but there are plenty of good reasons to do it. Among other things, both are separate legal entities (you remember corporations are people, my friend ?) so the actual winner has access to the deep pockets but doesn't actually have deep pockets that are potentially accessible to anyone who files a lawsuit. It also lets you avoid probate. the

Does Lottery Software work?
Actually, I used this post for preparing the ground for something more important than showing my mediocre (compared with backtracks) results. I want to show the truths about certain bulls that have been swirling around lotteries for decades. In this context you is used in impersonal manner and does not refer to any partircular person, not even to Stat$ although he is always a tempting target, LOL. Bull #1: you cannot win because numbers are random. Predictability depends on 2 factors

Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
Actually having two games and letting the players pick may be worse right now. As happens so often, I think this is another case of players somehow failing to understand that the point of a lottery is to raise revenue for the entity that runs the lottery. Maybe MUSL could collect a modest fee from the UK for licensing the Powerball name, but the real money is from selling tickets. Their obvious goal is to gain players so that jackpots will grow more rapidly, because sales are better whe

Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
Actually having two games and letting the players pick may be worse right now. That just leads to having a limited pool of player cash going to more games which leads to slower rolls and more player fatigue. The lottery market needs to sort itself out and cull the games that don't pull in much player dollars. I doubt that will happen anytime soon because the lotteries don't like paying out. That is why we keep getting more and more games that roll slower and have lower jackpots.

Michigan Weekly Breakdown — Fantasy 5 & Lotto 47 Trend Report (April 4-9)
Great questions, and I appreciate you digging into the actual game rules. Most people never bother reading those. I've looked into both of those sections before, so here's my take. The certain information is not available to the general public language in the Ineligibility section is standard legal boilerplate. Every state lottery has something similar. It mostly covers internal security and audit procedures, employee eligibility restrictions, and vendor information. It's not about the win

ideal lottery pool size
I enjoy belonging to a pool since it gives me far more chances to win the lottery than I ever could get playing on my own. I never want to organize one though. I do not want the responsibility nor do I want to hunt people down for payments. The one thing I really like about the one I currently belong to is the fact I do not have to worry about how big it gets since I can buy multiple shares. This way I can control how much I am trying to win. It seems an ideal way to organize a pool.

Canadian man charged with theft, fraud after claiming $1M lottery prize meant for three winners
All about Encore. https://www.olg.ca/en/frequently-asked-questions/lottery-games/encore.html If you ever run a pool you make copies of the tickets and hand out the copies to the participants before the drawing. That way it avoids any problems if someone wins with a ticket that they bought for themselves outside of the pool.

One Georgia ticket wins $983 million Mega Millions jackpot
California being allowed to make lower tier prizes parimutuel is a part of the official PB rules that all states follow. How sales revenue is apportioned to the various prize levels, and therefore the total amount of each prize pool is the same percentage for all members of the game, and unrelated to how that prize pool is used to pay winners. How or if winners' identities are publicized is based on state law or lottery rules, and generally isn't part of the PB rules. Strangely, the official

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
California prizes are hard to figure out. I know that one won a lot less than normal because the state sold only about 1 million tickets, and the odds of a second place win is 1 in 11 million. 1/11th of $1 million is half of what was actually awarded, and I think that is because the 3rd place prize of $50,000 had no winners, so the prize pool for that one was given to the 2nd place prize. Had one person won the $1 million prize and one person won the $50,000 prize, they each would have gotte
