Illinois Lottery kicks off new 'Hit or Miss' game
The new game is nearly identical to a Texas Lottery game called All or Nothing Take a good look at the payoff chart in the OP. Good point because Texas pays $10 for matching 3 or 9 numbers and Illinois will only pay $5. It's $50 compared to $20 matching 2 or 10 numbers and $500 compared to $250 for matching 1 or 11 numbers. But that doesn't change the facts the odds against winning any those prizes are identical. I believe Northstar is using the same strategies casinos use to get mo

what about people with a system that only share half of the system
I think most people here, except for the hard corps Pick 3 crowd would disagree with that. The average ticket sale is $1. $75 is just a little less than I spend on all games a monrth. I'm not about to put that much on one drawing. As I said before, people who play that heavy are just playing to play. The average player is betting a buck and hoping to pick up a little extra or maybe a lot extra in additiin to a paycheck. I'll answer your scratchers and slot machines by saying if you're g

Jackpot or 16 Again
Why should sports work any better? Since you weren't there the first time around things will obviously be different the second time around. The only question is how different. Not that there's any way to be certain, but it's a pretty safe bet that things would be different enough that betting on sports would be far from a sure thing. General trends might be a pretty safe bet, so doing very well in the stock market might be very likely. The more important detail that we don't have, is how much

billyloco's "Extreme MLB Wagering System"
A large percentage of baseball games are decided by one run. The run line was a marketing idea cooked up by Vegas sports books to introduce a pointspread to baseball. Baseball is traditionally a money line bet, + 1.25, - 1.45, etc... the beauty of it is all you have to do that way is pick the winner, no points, no run line, and in baseball the underdog wins quite often. The sports books hate baseball. When I worked in in Vegas a guy on our crew was dating a girl that worked as an audito

Are we fooled to believe that there's a system?
time*treat, Well the rule about tying up terminals was because of the team play by the Aussies (I think it was) that zonked the Virginia lottery. But how many ways did they split it and how much did each get? As megamillionaire said, lotteries paid for the Revolutionary War. Going back further than that Keno in its original form built the Great Wall of China. In any form of gambling management is very concerned, in fact paranois about the integrity of the game but for the most part t

N.D. Lottery wrestles with credit card buying options
Horse racing, car racing and sports teams don't randomly win. The difference is a horse or car's odds are based on their chances of winning the race against the other entries in that race and how much is bet on it. In lottery games we hear terms like hot, cold, due, or this or that numbers but in a random draw with 10 numbers each number has a 1 in 10 chance of being drawn. And adding more numbers does decrease the chance of a number being drawn. Once a racing card is set and the betting

POLL 1 of 3: Computerized drawings vs. ball drawings
What if, 5 or 10 minutes from draw time. They do a check, find the the number with the least sales, then generate that number with a few lines of code change. Or they could program the computer to automatically scan for the combinations with the most money wagered on them. Football season is about to start so every Monday we'll see the opening lines in the sports section. If too much money is bet one way, the bookies add or subtract from the point spread to entice bets on the other way.

I am willing to pay...
pumpi76 It would be virtually inpossible to determine the number of people who bet on the stock market. There are many types of onvestors, from day-traders to corporate cEO's whose holdings can be many times their salaries. If a person knows what they're doing they are not betting at all, usually that's for rookies who think they have a tip. Lumping all investors together as one is no more specific than saying sports fan to describe a baseball or football fanatic. I also

Texas legislature defeats Internet lottery bill
Money these families need to pay for groceries, the light bill or the rent could be wasted on the lottery instead, the two agreed. If their budgets are that tight, the odds are very good that they won't have a computer, internet access or a credit card. Besides, what's going to keep all those nasty poor people from walking down to their local 7-11 and spending that money on lottery tickets in spite of the lawmakers' opinions? What's going to keep that ten-year-old from glomming onto Mommy's AT

When to Play the Lottery
You can use trend analysis for anything from the lottery to football to how a diesel engine performs. As far as betting on sports, yes some teams or players have certain reputations and everyone likes a sure bet. Sport players get their results from good training, coaching and determination (not pre-determination). If a player or team isn't motivated then chances are they will lose. And if an opposing team goes up against a winning team with a great season or track record then yes there is that
