Powerball numbers statistics
Here's a python version of your program (excluding exporting results to CSV files). I got similar results as above. import time import math import itertools def analyze_combinations(): start_time = time.time() total_combinations = 0 # Even odd counts: keys 0 5 even_count = {i: 0 for i in range(6)} # Range stats range_stats = { Sum : 0, Count : 0, Min : None, Max : None, Buckets : {} } # Spacing stats spacing_stats = { Sum : 0.0, C

Predicting winning numbers? Fact or fiction?
I was just thinking that if Greenfox would have Titled this Topic to Predicting Winning Combinations? Fact of Fiction? we might have learned more about the Stat$talker's version of Probability Math', instead of a continuation of wild claims about the Mega Ball and the Certainty that the Lottery was cheating because the Draw was not 1 of the 46% that Stat$talker claims Must Hit based on his knowledge or some divine gift of mathematical insight. Stat$talker claims to apply his version of Proba

A Pick 3 System Based On "Digits In Common With Previous Draws"
Greetings everyone! I ve been working on a system for Pick 3 based entirely on trends of digits common to the previous drawing , and while I ve come up with a nifty tool, I m struggling with how exactly to use the information the tool spits out to narrow down the field for the next drawing. Every strategy I ve come up with is ALMOST, but not quite, repeatable. The premise of the system is relatively simple: narrow the field of possibilities for the next drawing to combinations that meet

Identical winning numbers crop up in hundreds of U.S. lotteries. Are the drawings really random?
Convention would say that the Wisconsin Lottery results are statistically significant and even close to being highly significant, two Wisconsin SuperCash! games drew the same six numbers twice within 10 days in 2006. The odds of that happening: 1 in 326,262 Does anyone know how often the drawings were back then and what the odds were? When mathematicians tell reporters what the odds of a particular lottery event are, the numbers they offer are frequently wrong. Claiming that the chances of

Do you believe every combination has the same probability?
Are you saying that every one here that charts the drawings and tracks and studies their games numbers are all delusional? If they do it because they think it will help them predict a future event that's random, yes. You can't predict things that are random, period. If you think you can you're delusional. History repeats itself. So yes, past results can predict future random events. Are you telling me that you think all of history is just a long series of random events? Or do you re

pick 3 separete, position
hello carbob. As things stand, there are 294 combinations, . In the coding, I have not allowed more than one digit to be present from the previous draw, even if it is in a different position. So e.g. starting with 137, all combinations with the '1' in the middle (n1n) do not contain 3 or 7 either, so that has filtered out quite a few formations. In terms of further filtering, one possibility would be not to allow repeating digits (e.g. 010). I've not done any analysis with P

Thoth's "Distance" indicator
While browsing through old posts I came across this gem of a post by Thoth. The whole thread is well worth studying -- Thoth has done much in-depth analysis of the Pick 3 game and his posts are well worth some time. I was particularly struck by his measure of the distance of a Pick 3 combination. To find the distance, Thoth first arranges the combination from lowest to highest, so 327 becomes 237 and 996 becomes 699. He then takes the delta of the first two numbers and the last two number

Mathematics and the Lottery
Lotterybraker You took the only record of lottery digit history is the pairs out of context. I was writing about substitution where, in practical terms, the winning lottery digits drive the workout. The action is by the 'substitute digits' which are divided into three major groups. The only record needed of winning combinations is one that tracks the lottery digits. There are NO mathematics because the workout is based on tracking charts and data TRENDS. There are no whol
