More lottery winners using trusts to accept prizes anonymously
Forming a trust doesn't mean the state lottery will issue the check without an investigation and everyone who cashed a prize over $600 knows we almost have to prove we own no back taxes, child support, or whatever state law dictates. Lotteries don't allow prize winners to portion out their before tax prize so a trust is an option. Lotteries are state agencies and it's possible eventually the state will release the winners name because of the Freedom of Information Act.

IL. lottery quietly issuing checks but you cannot cash yet
Here is your check for $8 million dollars but do not cash it yet. We have the money but it can't be released until the administrators are paid. Since we can't release the funds we are in a catch 22 because we also cannot pay the administrators. Now if you just will give us $40,000 we will wire that to the administrators to pay them and get the funds for that $8 million dollar check released...

Things should be easier thru the end of the week. Payouts are going up with the release of the new tix and I see some numbers are on a shorter delay the past couple of days. May start back tomorrow, thru the end of the week then that will be it for the rest of the month as things will go downhill again.

I can almost guarantee their lottery geeks are running many of the same systems we are so they can figure out what we will play, then make it 1-off or a mirror so we miss. I dont even know how it is mathematically possible for the 5 ball to missing from day for 25 draws, unless you are rigging the game. As mentioned previously, we are well past the release for the new tix so it will stay bad for a while....not to mention, repeats are coming as well

Illinois fires lottery operator Northstar
Will continue to operate lottery for more than a year
The nation's first private company to manage a state lottery was fired Friday by the Illinois Governor after years of failing to make the lofty revenue targets it promised.
In a news release Friday, Gov. Bruce Rauner announced that his office had reached a termination agreement with Northstar Lottery Group that will remove the firm as private manager as of Jan. 1, 2017, or until a replacement is chosen.
The agreement also stipulated

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
A point of clarification. My original post had nothing to with the state requirement to report the winner to the media. The story came from an interview the winner gave to the local TV news media it wasn't the media reporting a California Lottery press release. Winners aren't required to give interviews after winning.
