Well, for me, not tonight, but I will on Friday if it rolls over today. The 161.6 M annuity (yes I will take the annuity) is a great win. First payment of 2.4M is more than enough for 12 months. I don't see myself spending 200K a month If I was to take the lump sum, 71.7M after all taxes is nothing to sneeze about. Am always torn between Cash and Annuity. But I think should I win, I would opt for the Cash Option. At a moderate 7% annual return, and a modest draw down, the money would grow past the annuity by year 10 to 15. It's true that a lot can change in 30 years, from tax laws to stability.

What are you saying? He took the lump sum not the annuity. Having recently claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, he chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $22.8 million rather than take annuity payments for the full amount. Congrats to the big winner!!

Them putting up the lump sum winnings estimate is honestly what they should have been doing from the get go. Next step/stop if they haven't already is to include the take home winnings after taxes for the lump sum winnings. Edit. I read your thread incredibly fast at first and thought they put up the lump sum winnings estimate. I reread your thread and saw that they were talking about the cash value of annuity, not the lump sum winnings. It is still nice of them to put up the cash value
