Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Actually, I work in a casino now and have for several years.
A dollar bet that could win a million dollars is not necessarily a bad bet. It depends on the probability of winning. If it's 1 in 12 million, (assuming there isn't something else to sufficiently make up for it), it's a bad bet. That would be the PB Powerplay.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The job of a pit boss is to ensure the game is being dealt fairly, and to stop cheaters. It is not their job to determine what is a good bet and what is a bad bet. Most casino employees don't know the difference anyway. They just work there.
Your badgering of people who refuse to play bad bets is not working. Give it up.

CDanaT,
As for spending one more dollar, I worked in Vegas casinos for 17 years and on casino riverboats for 5. Every pit boss I worked for said that any $1 bet that might win one million dollars is a good bet. There is no doubt they have a wee bit more understanding of gambling on things and betting that you do.

Keep in mind, Every PB Draw Is One out of Four Machines that get randomly rotated, making predictions tougher. Plus, they have Double Play , so Ultimately 2 Draws. When you visit a BlackJack table at a Casino, you're not betting against the dealer with one deck. Pretty much the same concept. My point is, they make it hard enough. Unsure how mega works at all, but seen a news special for powerball (you could search for it online it's there). I'd rather get the SHAFT with 2 fingers instead of a fi

Nevadans mourn shuttering of California Lottery's top-selling retailer
Nevada should have their own state lottery. The argument that the casinos are against a state lottery because it takes money away from them is ignorant and simply stupid. Every Nevada restaurant and bar has tabletop games. Every gas station and convenience store has slot machines. Those take far more $$$ from the casinos than a state lottery every could.
The casinos could sell lottery tickets (like any other retailer) and get their guaranteed 6%, which I m guessing is a higher return than so

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
I would be shocked if a casino sold books about gambling with any truth in them. They need people to make bad bets.
I didn't say each additional ticket cuts the odds in half. I said the odds of you winning is (odds of one ticket winning) divided by (number of tickets).
Use my pick 2 example. What are the odds of me winning if I buy 2 tickets? How about 5 tickets?

Proposed bill would let voters decide on an Alabama state lottery
Legislators tired of losing revenue to neighboring states with lotteries
By Kate Northrop
Alabama legislators proposed a bill on Tuesday that would allow Alabama residents to vote on whether they want to have a state lottery.
Another legislative session, another attempt to enact an Alabama state lottery. Supporters of a new bill say the state is actively losing revenue to neighboring jurisdictions, and this proposal would aim to stop that.

$1.5 million Jersey Cash 5 lottery ticket expiring soon
Seem to recollect playing @ that store years ago on one of our junket flights to AC.
Since Borgata (MGM) won't put lottery there, we take the Jitney to the boardwalk. Bally's has a store outside the casino that sells tickets as well as other locations we frequent.
Am thinking it was a local who bought the ticket.

Indiana legislature rejects bill for online lottery ticket sales
Point well taken.
Don't forget Indiana has twelve casinos. The law was changed so that riverboats were no longer required. Best of my knowledge each patron 'pays' the state $5 to gamble on them. I still remember having to pay $5 just to get on; luckily all the ones I have visited (4) that is no longer the case, the casino pays it. Going through security there is an electronic counter.
The closest one, Caesars, was forced to sell due to IGC. Sent them an email regarding this and the

would you rather win 1, 10, 50, 100, or 500 million $
I didn't say this game exists. It was a rhetorical question -- would you bet $2 on a 1 in 53 billion chance of winning $6 million? Apparently so, because you said that any game that awards $6M for $2 is ok. How bad do the odds of winning have to get before you say no? 1 in 800 billion? 1 in a trillion cubed? This is ridiculous that you do not consider the odds of winning when deciding whether to play.
The bad casino gamblers play triple zero roulette when double zero is available. They play
