Retailer perspective: Selling a $254M lottery ticket
If you ever did win big and started thinking about it, there are probably other people in your life who's help was just as useful as a clerk selling you a lottery ticket. Would you go back and tip them too?

Opinion on tips?
In my opinion, it depends on the relationship with that clerk. If I am running late and can call the clerk to enter my #s before I get to the store, then definately a tip if any of those #s play

NY Scratch-off Discussion
everyone in ny expects a tip. even after spending $1k in just one store and then cashing some winners the clerk looks at me like he expects more than the $100 in commission he just made off of me........

Tipping
Be careful your clerk may lost her job because you give her a tip. It may be against the company policy to accept a tip from customers.

Post Your Winning Tickets Here
Another tip Dr65 is like tonight I saw 3 of the $10 cards like the ones I've been winning on in the trash can at the top (in a grocery store) and looked at the numbers at the bottom of the cards they were 003, 004 005...all losing tickets so I figured if the next one on the roll was 006 it could be a winner so asked the clerk what number was next on the roll and it was 006 so I bought it and sure enough it was a winner (the one I just posted above)!

Clerk's lottery ticket error wins woman $1 million
So what does Susan get for her error since Ivey won. She should at least go to the store and appologize to the clerk, and give her a tip for the error she felt was made. I bet if she had't won she would have gone back to the store and gripped about how much money she made her spend. Do the right thing and tip Susan. She deserves it cause seems like to me she was looking out for you....LOL

Have you or anyone you known tipped clerks that have helped you select a winning instant ticket?
Yea thats crazy. This chick at the local gas station has said things like that before to me...She kinda laughed it off but I know she was being serious....Im sorry but i dont think a clerk deserves a tip for ripping of a ticket and handing it to me.

I always tip the person when I cash in a winning ticket i give 10% of the winnings to the clerk. i know the store's policy is don't tip but they have never told me to stop .My father always told me tipping when I win will bring back the luck to me and I feel good about helping someone with a few extra bucks and the smile on their face shows me they are grateful.
