I don't know when it went to 4 advance plays, but this is why: (from the Iowa Lottery website) Please note that through the morning of Nov. 5, 2023, the number of Powerball drawings for which you can purchase plays in advance is being limited in Iowa as we gear up to add a popular new feature in the game. (They're adding the Double Play option, so they have to switch out all the playslips.)

I hope this message helps someone's life this year, and helps to refine your intuition enough to choose the correct numbers to play in the lottery. I bought and have been using commercially available lottery software for many years and mostly play a 5/36 game. My experience has been this - I've frequently won many small prizes ( by matching 2 and 3 out of 5 numbers) occasionally a 4 out of five match, but never a 5 out of 5 match. Why is This Happening?
It's long past the time for complaining that The Florida Lottery changed Fantasy5 (5/36 matrix) by adding a midday drawing, but something notable has happened that I don't understand.
