oh you betcha! Wait, you do know we all have to legitimately have taxes withheld, on only yes, the pick 4 right? I am used to that all i am so far winning entire year, so yep, and prior years, each time, we all win it is taken out. i.e., if i won it playing regular tickets at the store I would be at the GREENVILLE RALEIGH Claimant Center, sittin' standing there waiting for my BIG check while they are back there deducting first all taxes each time. Sure do, so same is the Online Lottery Process o

What is the obsession with the taxes? Like the lottery guy Jim wrote, your individual tax situation determines how much of your winnings are going to be taxed, period. Those 1099G's are income, if you have any $600.00+ 1099G winnings you need to itemize and take deductions, you can deduct gambling loses up to the amount you won, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR LOSING TICKETS as proof for your deductions. If you win win $800 you will receive $800 from the retailer, then when tax time comes around you add it to

If you win a Pick 4 double for a dollar box with the promotion you'll win $800 before taxes. After they take out the 24% Fed and 8.95% state taxes for a total of $263.60, you'll take home an extra $136.40 for a grand total of $536.40 Why wouldn't we just wait till the promotion is over, then play for a $2.00 box, win $800 and then keep it all. Makes sense right?

I sent them a second email. Jim, Well, if we have to pay the 32.95% taxes (24% Fed, 8.95% state) which comes out to $263.60 on the $800 win per my example, that would leave me with only $536.40 in total take home winnings. I know you don't have any control or say over the taxes, but I'm going to be candid here. If that additional $400 in winnings is only going to amount to an actual $136.60 extra in my pocket, then in that case I hope I DON'T get one of the Double Box Payout promo

Thanks for all the push back you are giving them! I am not seeing alot of tickets with the promo, 1 maybe 2 everytime I play, at the most. When you think about it, I am sure someone at MDlottery got a bonus for coming up with this idea. Anything MDlottery can do to increase tax income for the state. I am really surprised we have not seen a flood of double/double triples in the pick 4 which both would trigger taxes if the promo was applied.

Any SINGLE ticket up to $5K. What you do is if you have let's say 20 straight P4's you don't cash them all at once because the agent+ bank account might get hurt, you simply cash 1 or 2 a day from different agent+'s and voila you have a fat bank account and you'll collect your 1009G's and do your taxes when the time comes....it is what I do when get multiples.

Here's what they said. My question. If a win on the double box payout totals an amount over $600 do we have to fill out a claim and pay taxes on it? Example, if we play a dollar box on a Pick 4 double for $400 and get a Double Box Payout ticket that would be $800. Do we have to fill out a claim to get the $800 if we win? Or will the retailer just gives us the $800 cash? Thanks! Their answer. Good morning Mr. Wurston, Thanks for checking in again. The tax threshold of paying t

The only thing you have to do now is sign a long print out from the terminal, you show your Drivers License and Social and the claim is done on the lottery terminal no more forms to fill out. Of course, then after that the agent pays you. PS back in 2016 they had a 10% added bonus to the prizes...I hit a P4 straight for 5K but it was $5500 with the promo so I had to go lottery headquarters to collect instead of an Agent + guess what my check was for?
