I Almost Won ! ... or... What Might Have Been !
I've told this story before, but (I think) it's a funny one. It was a dark and stormy night. No, it really was and my Internet connection was down and had been all day so I couldn't check my ticket. The cable was also out, so I didn't have much else to do but read and when the power in my neighborhood went out, it was read by flashlight or go to bed. I wasn't sleepy, so I drove to the nearest convenience store and while driving there, I saw the street lights come back on; Reddy Kilowatt wa

Idaho Lottery Shenanigans
Weekly Grand is a state draw game. Matching 5 numbers wins ya a thousand bucks a week for a year. There's also a second chance draw where a losing ticket wins $100 a month for a year. However, there have been several second chance drawings where the winner was disqualified, but they did not draw a new winner, thereby saving themselves $5200 and decreasing what I thought was a guaranteed game payout. Glad I don't waste my money on this game. I'd be upset if I had my ticket in a second chanc

what state do you think has the worst lottery?
By far the worst Lottery in the Country (and maybe even the world) is the Hoosier Lottery. Here are just some of the reasons why: A history of scandal and corruption: The Hoosier Lottery has a well documented history of scandal and corruption. These are just a few of the high...or rather low lights: 1. Jack Crawford was the Hoosier Lottery's first Director. He was forced to resign after news of an affair with his housekeeper hit the press. While this scandal was not related to lotte

Setting a trust for anonymity: how does it work?
The bottom line is that you accept the possible risks when you buy the ticket (not if you win). Really, who plays to lose? I think it is a risk and not fair to be put on display, and if I ever win here in PA I won't spend a cent of it in this state because they advertised my name when it really wasn't necessary... but I still have my ticket, still hoping to win... I would even ask them to wait on the announcement until I actually have access to the money so I can move away right away (out o

how would you react to winning a jackpot
Other for me. Before I claimed my prize I would take a picture while holding the ticket, photocopy it front and back, and then put it away. Then I would rent a house or apartment in a large city in the state I won it in. Set up the phone, bank, drivers license and utilities while still living and going about my business as usual in my hometown. This way the announcement would say Jane Doe in Houston won the lottery. Not Jane Doe in Tinytown. I will need advisers to set up trus
