The only way I put down $50 for a scratch ticket is if I already won $50 or more on a less expensive ticket/s. It is BIG enuff letdown when you buy a $20 scratch ticket and win nada... Anotherwords I wouldn't spend my own $$$ on that pricey a ticket.... When you lose .... You feel like a loser ..... And then you do the math and figure out how many pbs or mms tickets you could have purchased instead.

That is true. But people who claim they win big money usually are people who spend a lot of money to get it. Nobody wins every day. I venture to say that people who cash in big on Pick 3/4 spend more than just a couple dollars. I've been to the store watching people spend easily over $100 on combos, scratch offs etc.. I don't play those. I only play 5/39 and not every day. Maybe 6x a month when I feel it's right. I just hit within this week 4/5 twice and collected $1300. It's not a lot but odds

I have an idea of why that is............the scratchoffs have higher top prizes especially the 5 dollar ones.........for example the 5 dollar ones used to be 50000 or 100000 now some are 200000 or 250000............which means there are fewer lower and middle tier prizes...........meaning if you buy a book you will be less likely to profit...............it revolves more around the grand prize.
