British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I follow my conscience and vote Independent. I vote how I feel based on what options I have to choose from. I voted for the Bush family twice. I supported the Bush War. I also voted for Obama twice. I decided last year in 2015 that I would never vote for Hillary Clinton. I considered Donald Trump, until he started running a Hate campaign. Thus, I have rejected Trump. I considered Gary Johnson, but I don't agree with some of his political positions, and he se

Former Anchorage mayor is pushing for an Alaska state lottery
Alaska Purchase The US $7.2 million check used to pay for Alaska ($121 million in 2015 dollars) Russia was in a difficult financial position and feared losing Russian America without compensation in some future conflict, especially to the British, whom they had fought in the Crimean War (1853 1856). While Alaska attracted little interest at the time, the population of nearby British Columbia started to increase rapidly a few years after hostilities ended, with a large gold ru

Canadian lottery winner fighting to remain anonymous
Coin Toss mentioned many times about how a huge effort to remain anonymous could result in even more publicity. In the U.S., because of the Freedom of Information Act, he can't file an anonymous lawsuit. despite a clear statement by the British Columbia Lottery Corp. (BCLC) that anyone buying a ticket must allow their name and photo to be published before collecting a prize. I guess he didn't read the back of the ticket.

Except he always bought two tickets with exactly the same set of 6 numbers on them. Yesterday Harry got his two big checks totaling 30 million. Each check was for 15 million. There were two other winners, they each got 15 million. Had Harry bought just one ticket, then Harry and the other two winners woul

B.C. Lottery faces lawsuit from second problem gambler
A Vancouver Island man is suing the British Columbia Lottery Corporation because the company denied him a $42,500 jackpot on the grounds he's a registered problem gambler although the BCLC has never stopped him from losing money. At the time, Mike Lee was supposed to be barred from casinos entirely under the BCLC self-exclusion program, but his lawsuit contends that the company let him in and allowed him to gamble anyway. It's unconscionable to allow someone that has gambling issues to le
