Annuity vs Cash Value
British Columbia, Canada is nice year round. I also agree that taxes will go up here in the U.S.

Quirks in your state lottery
The British Columbia lottery, which ran a Pick-3 game for about 12 years, never drew 666 either.

NY 0000 April 1985
Computerized draws didn't come about in North America until 1991, in British Columbia. I'm 99% certain that New York has never used an RNG for Win 4.

How do I compute the odds of winning a lottery twice?
I beg to differ about Of course the simple answer is that it ain't ever going to happen to any specific person. as a doctor in British Columbia hit the 6/49 jackpot twice within 2 or 3 years. Once was for 2.5 million the second times 5 or 7 million. And being a doctor, he would have needed that money too...hahaha NOT!

how did RNG start and when did it spread to other states?
The RNG craze did not start in the US, but in British Columbia. They've been using computers since about 1986. I think the first US lottery to use computers was California, followed by Nebraska, both started in 1995. It's been downhill ever since.

a question about computerized drawings
With the exception of Nebraska, they all used balls at one time. Some longer than others. Like Missouri, it has televised draws right up until going to the rig-o-matic. But others, like British Columbia, have used computers since the late 80's.

Vancouver to host 2010 Winter Games
Obviously awarding the Olympic Games itself has nothing to do with lottery, but, ultimately, the British Columbia lottery, if not all Canada, will be offering Olympic-themed games.
