Colorado Lottery Vending Machines Now Require ID Scanned
I'm a regular lottery player and have been living in Colorado for a little while now. I still have my Oregon ID card (state issued ID, not a drivers license). I don't drive so I haven't been in a hurry to get a Colorado ID since my Oregon ID doesn't expire for almost 10 years. Anyway, I found out today while trying to buy lottery tickets at my usual vending machine (at Safeway) that they now require you to scan your state issued ID in order to use the vending machine. It scans in the same pl

TheLotter What happened? No USA Lotteries?
I'm aware of an issue they are having in Colorado, so those games are temporarily offline, but they are still available in Texas , Oregon , and Minnesota . They are also starting in NY NJ soon, from what I've been told.

Colorado Lottery Vending Machines Now Require ID Scanned
They just started this within the last week. So maybe they're still working out the kinks... But good to know it works in other states. That gives me a little hope that the Colorado Lottery with figure it out.

Will I pay state tax twice if I play MM in a different state?
Good luck! Several years ago I took a business trip that gave me a chance to play in 3 states. The trip was to Idaho, so I bought tickets there before leaving. When I changed planes in Denver, I bought tickets for the Colorado lottery, then when I got home to Louisiana, bought tickets here. Didn't have any winners, but it was fun to try.

Powerball Double Play Winner in Florida
Not every State has Double Play: What is the Double Play? Double Play is an option that is currently offered in 14 jurisdictions: Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Washington. For an extra $1.00 per ticket you can participate in a second drawing that occurs just after the first/primary Powerball drawing, with different prize tiers that you can match your nu

State taxes - my experience
I love that Trust idea. Do you have to set up the Trust before you hit the jackpot? What kind of Trust is best for this? According to Investopedia, Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming do not levy state income taxes, while New Hampshire doesn t tax earned wages. South Dakota has a Registration of Trust cost of $125. From greensfelder.com, States where you can avoid income taxes In states such as Kansas you can avoid state i

Could all lottery drawings be fixed?
My Theory of state lottery control of winners in a drawing is this: In COLORADO, for example we have Lotto and Lotto+. On the Last 7-6-22 drawing we had the number 8-11-15-20-23-24 as the lotto number And 8-11-15-22-23-24 as the ( +) number supposedly drawn. The drawing is a computer picked drawing, Not balls dropping in a bin. It is said to be random generated. I do believe lotteries are controlling the results of a drawing for simply not wanting to break the bank. After all it's a multi

State-by-State Comparison: Scratchers Sales vs PB/MM Sales
I went through every US state lottery's most recent financial report to see how sales of scratchers compare to sales of Powerball and Mega Millions. Some states didn't have granular data available, but where it is available, you can see scratchers out-sell PB/MM by a wide margin. In two states (OR and SD) lottery sales are dominated by video lottery, and scratchers and draw game sales are just a drop in the bucket. Two other states (ND and WY) don't even sell scratchers. In all states, I did not

Asked ChatGPT How To Win the Lottery
Rather than going back and forth, I went to Quora and searched what mathematicians, statisticians, MBAs, etc., had to say. The question was, How doesn t buying two lottery tickets double my chance of winning the lottery, even if that chance is still minuscule? (not quite the same as reducing the odds, here we're talking about doubling your chances) You'll see some explain you can't reduce the odds, you can only increase your chances. Here we go: Aaron Brown MBA in Finance
