$1.33 billion Powerball jackpot won by one ticket sold in Oregon
That is a good point. Not all jackpot amounts can set someone for the rest of their lives, but some can put them in a good position so they won't have as many worries. It can get rid of debts and leave some aside for emergencies. I saw an episode of The Lottery Changed My Life that involved a man who won $100k on a scratch off and he put it to good use. He had suffered from dental problems for much of his life, including having multiple root canals. His teeth caused him pain and looked terri

$1.33 billion Powerball jackpot won by one ticket sold in Oregon
Just checked my g mail. $12 winnings confirmation. Only had PB of 9; all numbers chosen by rolling my Ottolball. My friend bought me about a week's worth of a PB and it won $7 from Indiana. Will cash that out today. It has two more drawings on it. doing good NOT playing until the jackpots are $40 million. Certainly $20 million would be nice, to me it is the principal of the 'blame it on the pandemic' mentality. Two can play that game!

California Lottery announces group as winners of historic $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot
Interesting. I think the education system in Britain is much better than United States. The British appear to understand probabilities much better. In Britain, most jackpots are won by pools. They are referred to as syndicates in Britain. There is mathematical proof. Your odds of winning increase dramatically with more tickets bought.

Mega Millions and Powerball offer $1.11 billion in combined lottery jackpots
You do not understand probabilities. Buying 2 tickets doubles your odds over 1 ticket. Buying 20 tickets is even better. You ask, why not play lotteries with more than half the matrix with jackpots in that range . Playing Mega Millions in a pool gives a better chance of winning a million dollars than playing a smaller matrix on your own. I have worked out the odds.

$36 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Florida goes unclaimed
This was the only unclaimed Mega Millions jackpot ticket in 2023 Only one? With just 6 jackpots in 2023 what are the odds that only 16.67% of them would go unclaimed? Using that math formula, 80% of $36 million is $28.8 million (which goes to education), and 20% is $7.2 million (going back to future prizes). Using a better formula 80% is $13.92 million because they're probably not going to put that money in to a 29 year annuity.

Thank you Todd
Don't know if this is the appropriate forum but I wanted to express my gratitude. This is your castle. You invited us all in and allowed us to speak. You built a place that minds can put thoughts to words. So I ask. Am I allowed to speak of things that that may be considered as mystical in a forum that you created to be mathematics, jackpots, pick 3, etc.? All things being relevant. Washing bottles ca be tedious. And sometimes necessary. I do not wish to create more problems for you. I know
