For better or worse, I think most winners play themselves. They perceive they are in some competition with others and convince themselves the way to win is to out spend them. Saddest thing is these winners is the others don't even know they are in a competition. They are happily living their life while big winner is trying to prove something to himself. I totally agree with you. But on the math side, if they contribute $2 each per drawing. That's 30 tickets a drawing and 90 tickets a week. If you played $180 every week as an individual, that's $9360 every year on PB. Not sure if they also play MM. So that's where the pool comes handy. Had a 0+1 win IRL, for $4. Since I've only spent $4 on the latest PB and MM run-ups, I'm breaking even during these latest run-ups. First time ever that has happened while playing these low odds lottos.
