Rigged? MO Pick 4 Multiple Repeats
Sorry, I moved this topic to the Pick 4 forum, but then moved it back to the general discussion forum. It's more of a rigged game topic, and not just a Pick 4 topic. You put it in the right place to start with.

My take is that nobody thinks playing a number of tickets makes Powerball easy to win. The issue being argued about is how odds work. I have already explained how it works here: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/344172/7169156 That explanation is how odds and math actually work. If some people want to make up their own alternate version of math and say that buying 50 tickets doesn't make the odds of winning 1 in 5.8 million, they have to understand they might as well also say that 1+1 is n

I agree, good example. And using that example, some here are saying that the odds of winning in that example would be 1 in 18, because they think you just subtract the number of tickets you purchase from the overall odds. (Which obviously is not the case.) The odds can be expressed as either 2 in 20 or 1 in 10.

So now the odds are 292, 201, 288, anjdx that's a fact Jack. So, it's a fact (Jack) that odds are expressed as just a single number? You appear to think that mathematics is a loose concept that can be changed to fit whatever narrative you want to propose. Which, of course, it is not. Mathematics are a factual way of stating something, and I've already provided it in detail. If you want to make up a different way to say how hard a lottery is to win, then that's fine. Just don't call it

I'll save him the money. You're right winoneday. Buying 50 tickets would make the odds 50 in 292,201,338 , not 1 in 292,201,288. Now, because we know that odds are nothing but fractions, the odds can be expressed as the fraction 50 / 292,201,338. In order to express the odds as 1 in ___ rather than 50 in ___ , we simply reduce the fraction. We can reduce the fraction by dividing both the top and bottom numbers by 50. The top becomes 1 (50 divided by 50), and the bottom become
