Wyoming Senate passes lottery bill

The Wyoming Senate voted 18-10 Friday for a bill to allow a state lottery and multi-state games such as the Powerball.
However, the bill designates revenue from the games for long-term school improvements, contrary to the bill as it came from the House. The revised measure will return to the House.

Defense worker wins $217 million Powerball jackpot

A husband and wife who work for the Department of Defense won the Virginia Lottery's $217 million Powerball jackpot, the second-largest lotto prize the state has ever awarded.
Dave and Nancy Honeywell of Fredericksburg, Va. both work for the Defense Department.
Dave Honeywell, a computer scientist, bought the winning ticket at one of Richmond International Airport's Lottery Express stations when he left for a business trip to Denver on Feb. 6.

Woman found guilty of murder in lottery winner's death

A Florida woman was convicted Monday of first-degree murder in the slaying of a lottery winner in central Florida.
Dorice Dee Dee Moore showed no emotion as the verdict was read. Judge Emmett Battles sentenced her to mandatory life without parole for the murder and an additional minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years for using a gun in the commission of a felony.

Illinois Lottery launching a new game Sunday

The Illinois Lottery is launching a new game this weekend.
The new game, called My3, will go on sale Sunday.
According to lottery officials, the game is not replacing Pick 3.
The My3 game will allow players to pick their favorite numbers without the need to specify what type of wager is being made. The prize levels for My3 are also different than Pick 3.

Kentucky Lottery moving drawing show to the Internet
