$17 million in Ohio Lottery scratch prizes unclaimed
Ohioans won $17 million and never bothered to collect their prizes. The Ohio Lottery says that's the amount that went unclaimed from instant scratch-off tickets during the fiscal year that ended in June. Players have about six months to redeem winning tickets, and officials say about one out of every 50 was never cashed in. N.J. Lottery breaks weekly sales record
The New Jersey Lottery today announced that it had a record-breaking week for instant-ticket sales at the end of 2006. Lottery officials said $28,563,561 worth of 'scratch-off' tickets were sold from December 21-27. The previous record for one week of sales was $26.9 million December 22 thorugh 28, 2005. Total lottery sales for fiscal 2006 was also a record $2.4 billion.

New York Lottery making some changes
NY Lottery figures better late than never to catch 'raffle fever' It looks like the New York Lottery's new year's resolution is to become more interesting. To accomplish that they are adding one new game and two changes. The first is a new limited scratchoff game called Raffle to Riches. The North Carolina Lottery is putting another game into play Tuesday. The first $10 instant ticket game in North Carolina is reaching stores. The new game is part of a trend in the lottery industry in that it's a holiday-themed scratch-off game that officials hope will boost sales.
