N.C. Lottery director quits
Will take job with software company Tom Shaheen, who has headed the North Carolina Education Lottery since its inception four years ago, has resigned his post to take a job with a company involved in the sale of lottery tickets through ATMs. Shaheen said Monday that he will be vice president of business development for Linq3, a software company that has a program that allows lottery tickets to be sold through point-of-sale terminals like automated teller machines for distribution in the U.

Complaints prompt review of Arkansas Lottery's personnel policies, salaries
Anonymous complaints about personnel issues have prompted the Arkansas Lottery Commission to request a review of the lottery's human resources policies and salary structure. Lottery giant GTECH Corp. laid off 31 employees in Rhode Island two weeks ago as part of a larger round of worldwide cuts by its parent company, a spokesman said Tuesday.
