N.C. woman hits Cash 5 jackpot for second time
A North Carolina woman plans to live debt-free this year, after she won a Cash 5 jackpot in the state lottery on Thursday, her second Cash 5 win over the years.
Lisa Williard of Harmony first beat the odds in 2008, when she won $363,041, lottery officials said. Thursday night, she and two other people won the $1,065,423 jackpot.

A Peoria man accused of kidnapping two men from Normal, Illinois, including one who died of a head injury suffered during the incident, demanded the victim's family pay a ransom from lottery winnings, Normal police said Friday.

You could call it a Christmas miracle. Somebody won a $100,000 lottery ticket and instead of cashing it in themselves, they handed it over to a church for a higher use.

Mistake lottery ticket wins NJ man $1 million

A New Jersey man has won a multi-state Cash4Life prize worth $1 million because of a lottery ticket that was sold to him accidentally.
New Jersey Lottery officials reported the second-prize winning Cash4Life ticket was sold at Sam's Day Nite Food Store, 1200 River Ave., and matched five numbers but not the Cash Ball in the Dec. 1 drawing.
