I can't explain what's going on with the Chief on the screen. That's the first time I've seen it act like that...

The Pigskin Challenge is about promoting improved prediction skills. It's not simply a matter of being able to say we had the PowerBall number or so many white ball numbers.

pigskin set the mark for the 5/53 white ball pool by correctly picking three numbers drawn from his ten number selections. If anyone hopes to do better, they need to predict four or five numbers from ten selections, or three  or more numbers from less than ten selections. (Yes, you could do better with four from up to thirteen selections or five from up to sixteen selections, but we arbitrarily decided to work with a max of ten numbers as being more manageable and challenging.)

For those interested in trying to predict the red PowerBall number, kbcherokee has already predicted it using six number selections. Even though predicting the red PowerBall number isn't really part of the challenge per se, to do better would require correctly identifying the red PowerBall number from five or fewer number selections.

There is also something to be said for consistency. urug2000 has correctly identified two numbers from ten selections in two consecutive drawings. I don't recall anyone doing better than that so far. Consistency in prediction is just as important as coming up with the right numbers. (Yes, you only need to get lucky once, but you have to be consistent if you're trying to improve your skills.)

Let's try to stay focused on doing better. It's all about improving our prediction skills with an eye toward cracking this PowerBall game. Please keep this in mind as you derive and post your number selections for The Pigskin Challenge.

              Good luck,

              aye'

Thanks, AYE, for your obversation and kind mention.

                      23 , 33 , 25 , 35 , 15 , 47 , 38 , 16 , 8 , 12

I do fairly well in my 'initial pool selection' in that they have consistently from 3 to 5 of the numbers selected.

It is the 'combinating' that I am not yet proficient in, but trying.

Next post I will point out something sort of interesting about 5 of the above numbers.

fja correctly called the red PowerBall using only four number selections. (51,2,50,37) In order to do better, the next person to claim the honor will have to do it with three or fewer selections.

                              Good luck,

                              aye'

P.S. - Actually, only two of those four selections were valid for the 1/42 red PowerBall matrix. Does this mean that fja picked the PowerBall using only two numbers? If so, there's nothing left but to claim the honor using only one number. You be the judge. What do you say?
