i'm not saying i want a $1 million top prize on a $2 game. i'm aware that you have to spend a lot to win a lot. i'm sayinf that offering a top prize of $250,000 on a $20 game is too little a top prize, especially when there are some states that offer a $250,000 top prize, or even higher, on tickets that cost not nearly as much.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

Depends on what players are looking for... do you want 10 prizes of $250,000 or 2 prizes of $1 million.  The top tier in the games usually have the same amount available... just depends on how many winners you want.

I dont think you would disagree with me that you wouldnt mind winning 250k, which could be a nice chunk of change.  I think too many lottery players have convoluted ideas they are going to win millions and the lottery loves that.  Its like we are brainwashed to spend more money on games that we have a miniscule chance to win.  Id rather put 100 bucks on the Little Lotto when the payout is close to the odds then wasting even 10 bucks on mega millions.  I think you would have a lot more people satisifed having 10 250k prizes then two million dollar prizes say on a $20 buck game.  And that is what the lotteries around America need to do, satisfy more people, not sell us on hopeless dreams.

that is not always the case. some states will offer only 1-5 top prizes, but those prizes will still be small. DE's $20 games only offer a top prize of $50,000, while there are states such as RI that offer that in a $5 game.

You know Illinois has a $2.00 ticket that offers $50,000 yr. for life. then all of our $10.00 tickets offer top prizes $1,000,000 dollars. Then our 1st $20.00 ticket which we have had out only a couple weeks now has a top prize of 2 million dollars. Which the $20.00 ticket has pretty good odds on it which is 1 in 2.75 odds on even break prizes. Illinois offers Instant games in $1, $2, $3, $5, $10 and $20 dollars. I usally play 3 and 5 dollars tickets. Every now and then I will play the 10 dollar tickets but usally after I get a big win and I have played the 20.00 only once and won 50 dollars so I figure a 30 profit on it wasn't bad on it.

I don't play scratch-off games for philosophical reasons.  When you pay your money, you have to take what the clerk gives you.  Much like a quick pick.  If I lose, I want to lose with my other numbers.  Then it is my own darned fault.  The other reason not to bother with scratch-offs is that the odds of actually winning something significant are better with Pick 3 and you can pick your poison.

In Texas the official odds are fraudulant.  They count paying a dollar and winning a dollar as a win.  In the real world we call that breaking even.  We should totally boycott all scratch-offs.  Won't happen, but someone needs to take a stand somewhere.
