wouldn't it be nice instead of standing in line at a store you could head straight for a lottery atm machine make your selections and be out the door in no time!

actually, states are installing self-sefvice lottery terminals.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

Yeah, but I would still rather fill out a play slip. It's just more fun than touching a screen.

the real reason i like the idea is because people in line moan and complain when they have to stand there while some old 90 year old clerk has problems getting the process complete.....

Illinois had machines like that for years when I lived there. Mostly in supermarkets.

You could pick your own, do quick pick or run your play slip in it. They also printed out vouchers for winning tickets that could be cashed in at the service desk.  Some places got rid of them because of complaints that minors were using them though. I don't know if they still have them.

Neither Connecticut nor NY have them.

California has them in Supermarkets. You can feed your own play slip in there, or select QP's.

A couple of grocery stores around where I live had lottery ticket dispensing machines and I think I did see a couple of lottery ticket kiosks a few years back, but the concept pretty much flopped here in GA. Problem was a combination of vandlism and just plain machine problems. Those machines were removed and have not seen them since. But hopefully, by this summer, GA might be on the Net. Keeping fingers crossed.

Maryland has some vending machines for scratchers, but nothing for the online games.  I would welcome ATM-like machines, especially if they had a payslip reader - It would be nice not to have to wait in line behind the people that play a gazillion pick 3/4 selections in all kinds of combinations.

here's the problem with self-service terminals. some 17 year-old can purchase tickets from the machine, purchase the winning powerball ticket, and since they're allowed to claimn the prize (you need to be 18 to purchase tickets, but anyone can claim a prize.), lie to the lottery about how they got the ticket, and claim millions of dollars. would you like it if some little s*** purchased the jackpot-winning ticket at a self-service terminal? there have been many times in which i had to kick people out of my old work because they tried to puchase scratch-off tickets from the vending machnes. it's bad enough that minors are purchasing, cigarettes, alcohol, and porn, but giving them the chance to purchase lottery tickets is just making things worse. you may as well declare an anarchy state.

also, self-service terminals take jobs from people who need them.

Just put them in a place where they can be watched at all times.

Keep in mind that a number of states require one to be 18 to claim prizes as well.

not really. quite a few states will allow anyone to claim a prize.

I meant to say NY has scratcher vending machines; neither CT nor NY have such machines for computerized games.
