Where can/should I buy Mega Millions tickets online? I used to get them at betslips.com but they stopped selling them :( Google lists serveral different places that offer similar lottery services. I like to play Mega Millions and Powerball when they go over $100M. Anyone here buying tickets online? Also why did betslips.com stop selling tickets? Thanks!

The best way is to buy the tickets yourself even if you have to travel to a near-by State or else have some one you trust buy them for you.  As has been pointed out on this forum many times, you have to read the small print of these on-line services, some only pay out a limited amount if you have all the winning numbers because they are running their own lotteries and not buying MegaMillions or PowerBall tickets.

Ok, buying them online doesn't seem to be an option, but is there any good way to subscribe to Mega Millions or Powerball through the mail?

        From the MM FAQ:

Click to expand Can I buy Mega Millions tickets by mail?

Yes, in states where it is offered, you can subscribe to Mega Millions by filling out a subscription form and returning it to that state lottery. Check with the state where you play to find out all the details.

I know some of the states you have to be a resident of that state to buy threw mail. It is illegal to mail lottery tickets. I have tried Virginia for Mega. I just go to NJ for Mega once a month.

I know the other services you're talking about on Google, and all of them are either scam sites, or run by one guy out of his garage.  I would not recommend them.  I am conducting research right now on the best alternative to MMO.com, and I'll be posting links when I'm ready to recommend a service.  Most of all, I am trying to look out for the members here, to be sure they are not giving their money to scam artists.

What about you guys here. No one can volunteer to buy tickets for a friend?

Is it actuallly true it is illegal to send the tickets by mail?

With the chance of it being lost in the mail, i wouldn't want it sent that way. Besides, the ticket can only be claimed in the state it was purchased in.

Yes, there is a US Postal law that not only prohibits sending lottery tickets through the mail, but also prohibits sending any lottery literature through the mail.

When ever I've driven to Indiana to pick up PowerBall tickets for myself, I've bought some extra ones for friends and former co-workers, but they are the type of friends that pay me before I go because they trust me.

I am sure that I wouldn't have any problems driving to the state spending the week or relocating to the darn state if I got a winning ticket.

That kinda is bad. What about these guys I spent $20 on for my ticket online. What is up with any states can play and that they will send you a ticket.
