I am going to start tracking pairs as far as the amt of times hit with each other and how long since they hit last for different states.

I would like to know if it is best to place the pairs in a database type program like access or would it be ok to place them in excel?

The problem that I face is the fact that in excel I will have to manually change how long it's been since a pair hit because I can not figure out a formula that would allow it to be done automatically---which is why I want to know if it will be done automatically if the pairs are placed into a database.

Or am I off track all together?
