I just read over at the http://lottoreport.com/ that the TLC Texas Lottery Commission could have a set matrix change for Mega Millions. There proposing a matrix of a 5/56 and 1/46. The odds would be then 175.7 million to 1.

Better overall odds and not much change of the lower level odds.  Sounds good if payouts are boosted too.

I will surprised if any prize is boosted more than 15%.

I could see 4+0 (which I've had twice) pay $200.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

*&(^%)$#@!*<?>*# And all other bad words, Tx as always, stinks and California too for changing the MegaMillions.

There is nothing like good old straight pick 6 with no bonus nor mega balls.

You can get that from any number of state games.

Of course here in WA state lotto plus (which had a plus ball) and lotto (which does not) the plus game hit new levels of prizes and the old and current game is stuck at under the 5 million mark since they brought back that worthless game.

I don't think a change to 175 million is enough to fix it but we'll see.

No one seems to be saying when any change will actually happen though.

                  I'm surprised, according to: http://www.lotterypost.com/news/109509.htm

Higher Starting Jackpots: The starting grand/jackpot prize amount will change from $10 million to $12 million.

Higher Payouts For Second And Third Tier Prizes: The second prize level will change from $175,000 to $250,000 and the third prize level will change from $5,000 to $10,000.

Personally I'm hoping for odds closer to 1:200 million. Like 185-190 million to one with less megaballs.

                    Like 5/59 + 1/38 or 5/60 + 1/34 or 35.

I'm also sure that Texas will ram this through irregardless if people want it or not.

Sales don't really support more than 12 million yet until the sales from California are known. They could always raise it to 15 if the sales are good.

Powerball better get it's butt in gear and get Florda on board and make some changes - otherwise Mega Millions is gonna leave them in the dust.

You people don't get it. All these changes have already been agreed apon behind closed doors - by all participating states. Everything from this point forward is just a formality. This is not the "TEXAS PLAN", or the "California Plan". That's not how business works. Do you think that this info would be made public if it wasn't already a "done deal".  These lottery directors have been meeting for months - probably way before California "officially" committed to joining. And I'm sure that California has been a member of mega-millions long before they made it official...

Well it needed to be changed it's sad that it's not much of one. I agree that public opinion at this point would be moot. One could only hope powerball won't screw it as badly as mega has. 175 million may seem like a lot but with California added it really won't make a big difference, they needed to be closer to the 200 mark. California was a member of MUSL.

I have a feeling you are correct that the matrix change was decided long before now. Sad mega is going to screw it up twice but from the looks of how their employees go they would just rather work at a college anyways.

I think that all of the MM lottery directors got together and agreed on the new matrix and then decided that one or more of the BIG states -- TX or ny --should be the 1st to go thru the formality of the approval process.
