I have started a petition for the Florida Lottery to join a multi-state lottery alliance so that Floridians like myself can play either Powerball or Mega Millions. The Florida Lottery is the only lottery that does not participate in a multi-state game and it would increase lottery revenue for the state of Florida, so I ask that all Floridians to please take some time to sign this petition and lets bring a multi-state game to the state of Florida.

Did you take a look at the computerized drawings petition?  You should support it so that your state does not go down the dark path that other states have.

I think florida would join Megamillions. Since there are no bills pending on the issue it's not going to happen any time soon.

i e-mailed the FL lottery a while ago, and they said it would happen within 3 years, but they are worried on the impact it would have on their in-state lotto. FL needs to understand that the players want to play a multi-sate game, and that the big jackpots that a multi-state game brings in will generate more sales than those that will be lost when theFL Lotto jackpot, which gets hit just about every drawing, so the jackpot does not get too high, has to decrease.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

I live in Florida and I hope they never offer a higher odds pick-5 plus extra ball game like powerball.  Not only is it much harder to wheel for, the odds keep going up and the big prizes you won't win suck money out of the state games.

I'd rather see some winable million dollar games in place of one in a billion bs sucker games.

Put some thought into it.  Sure the idiots want big prize games to drool over and throw money at, that part makes sense for the lottery greedy heads to go for.  Thing of it is, we want those people to build up the prize for us lotterypost strategy players to win.  If they put their money into a game we can't win, it doesn't do us any good.

When someone comes up with a good strategy for powerball beyond shotgunning some numbers at it, then it will be worth a second look.

Come on Floridians, help Bob and your State by signing this Petition; otherwise, your State could end up like Indiana. I am living proof that Bankruptcy will be your option unless you do something about it! I am not kidding!

I totally agree with you LosingJeff, a multi-state will give the Florida Lottery the revenue it needs to stay around, don't you guys realize that the Florida Lotto base jackpot is a lousy three million it used to be about eight million ten years and not to mention that sales are not that great. I don't want Florida to lose it's lottery, a multi-state game is the way to go.

Exactly, the pie remains the same size no matter how they try to divide it up.  When Florida went from one to two draws a week the starting prize was cut in half and is rarely won, it rolls over and then we have the real start at 7 mil as before.

The only way the lotteries have found to bring new money into the games is to offer ever bigger prizes.  What we need are more interesting games, especially ones we have a better chance of winning where maybe skill isn't necessary to play but makes a difference.

And yes, I do not want Powerball in Florida as I've yet to see a workable strategy to make the game worth playing.  All it would do is suck money out of the Florida games.  Powerball takes several slices of the pie leaving less to fund the prizes for the home games.  I seriously doubt there are people holding off playing Florida lotto waiting for Florida to add Powerball before they start to play lotto.

Now before you think I'm crazy, what I'd really like is to have the right to play all the lottery games online so everyone can play the game they prefer instead of the one shoved down their throats.  If we could play online we'd really be able to vote with our electronic feet for the type of game size and prize we want.

A game with skill? You mean like Match 6? With 18 numbers, you have to be diligent, or you might overlook a number or two.
