  they have too big a population. i wouldn't be surprised if they get a winner in their first drawing.

  I say within the first year. If "Arnold" drops in a few bucks and his Hummer buddies drop a few the jackpot should shoot up and some Californian will probably win it.

  I think California will be like PA and IN for powerball.  Usually if there is a winner it's in those states.  However, you can't be like my dad.  He never plays because he thinks it's rigged.  He says, "someone from up north will win so why play?"  I always explain to him that they sell more tickets but my dad doesn't listen.  The way I see it everyone has the same odds of winning no matter where you are.

  up north from california is Washington. I would hardly worry about washington winning any time soon.

  i'm betting that's why NY is considering pulling ou of mega millions. they're too worried that CA will see all the winners.
  
  
  
  mega millions did a few things wrong when they came up with the game changes. they didn't add enogh balls. they took away a few numbers for the mega ball when they should have added more. they should have also increased the starting jackpot by much more (i'm talking it should be $15-20 million).
