if this did work it would only be effecient for drawings that don't split the jackpot among the winners.  for instance a powerball drawing with 500 jackpot winners wouldnt be worth much...unless that jackpot is massive.

I believe it was suggested once in a thread on the mystical  forum several months ago by a newer member. I don't remember the name.

If it did work, each participant would only have invested a dollar for a share of the jackpot which is a lot better than spending a dollar and getting nothing.

              Maverick,

I died---seriously though, it would take a sophisticated group with Brahman monk concentration. This is a gamblers forum and as such the mania of..."I want it now, short term thinking and shirttail type individuals who only scribble what others have worked out," I just don't think that this is where you will find that type dedication needed no matter what the outcome.

Don't sell your fellow Lottery Posters short. I happen to know for a fact that there are some highly disciplined adepts of concentration who frequent this site. Some are members who rarely post. Others are lurkers who have never joined. These people don't fit your stereotype at all. Believe me, you'd be very surprised to know just who's watching this board. You never know what's going on in the minds of people who visit this site.

Ok, Im game. When can we hold hands and strain our brains?

That reminds me of a funny time when I was about 12. I wanted a new Huffy bicycle. I heard if one wishes hard enough, it'll come true. I wished sooo hard during the night and upon waking. I really felt a slight headache from all the deep concentration. I opened the garage door, thinking that just maybe the Huffy would be sitting right there. Nope it wasn't. Well that taught me something.

But as an adult, I have seen certain wishes actually come true WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST. Not wanted, but needed. Of course it's not something I can explain. It's got something to do with the powers of the universe, God, karma etc...

                          Master 'Aye,'

the context of which you took to be a put down, was intended to gently point at the mass generic public and brainstream of many forums. Perhaps I was not clear in definition, my oversite. This personality is NOT surprised by the mental walks of life that do indeed abound both on this forum and many others that I do contact. Were you closer in my realm of acquaintences, you would be reading essays that I and a group that produce on a weekly basis, think tank material. Putting down what a person surmises aloud or groups of individuals attempting the unthinkable is just not in my scope of higher development. The point that I was patently trying to navigate without twisting someones trews is what I have already stated.

                            Teufellj,

As I said, we never know exactly what's going on in the minds of others who frequent this site.  I just try to take the words of others at face value without trying to read between the lines or making too much of an emotional investment in any conclusions that I might reach. Message boards are generally notorious for misunderstandings caused by people talking past one another without the benefit of complete and accurate communication. No offense was intended or taken.

                            Good luck,

                            aye'
