      talonawd:

      Good car, by the way.

Mega Millions uses a Pick 5 wheel.  You only concern yourself with the first 5 numbers.  The Mega Number you can pick in whatever manner you like.  (Some people like to bet on one or only a few Mega numbers, but I like to try to cover them all, if possible.)

If you go to the Pick 5 Abbreviated Wheels section, you'll see there's a ton of wheels.  Choose one that fits your budget (number of tickets), and fits how many numbers you want to wheel.

For example, if you're looking to buy around 200 tickets, you'll see a few good wheels for that range, including:

      • 3 if 5 of 35 (174 tickets)

      • 3 if 5 of 36 (214 tickets)

      • 3 if 5 of 37 (235 tickets)

      • 4 if 5 of 17 (182 tickets)

It's up to you to decide what your guarantee should be, and how many numbers to wheel.

Personally, if I were going to wheel 200 tickets, I would run the 2 if 5 of 52 wheel 5 times, just changing the order of the numbers in the wheel each time.  That would generate exactly 200 tickets, and guarantee at least five 2+0 matches, and several Mega Ball matches (if you spread out the Mega Ball numbers).

I think that $150 for getting 4 numbers is not enough.

                I'd use the 40-ticket wheel I used this time - 2 if 5 of 52.

You could use that full wheel for around 50 lines, or you could use a larger full wheel and use some of the filtering abilities to eliminate unlikely combinations.

Wow Todd...close one! I have never gotten that close before. Closest I can get is 2+1. I have also never used a wheel. I may start now.
