Do you remember any games that have since went to lotto heaven (or hell)? It would be a big help if you could reminence all the information you can give, because my next game tournament will focus on defunct games. I'll pitch in some games later.

Sure, how about New Jersey's Lotzee game?

Lotzee was removed from the NJ game lineup about 2 years ago, and was an interesting oddball of a game. Here's some background info I had on the game, including how to play:

Lotzee had 63 different ways to win on each ticket played, with some of the best odds of winning a prize (1 in 7).  Lotzee had a top prize of $500,000.

Every Lotzee ticket had 5 prize levels.  Within each prize level you had between 1 and 8 sets of 4 numbers in play.

Between all the prize levels, you had a total of 21 sets of 4 numbers in play for each Lotzee ticket.  Of those 21 sets of 4 numbers, you could only select the 4 numbers that are in play for the $500,000 prize; all other numbers on your ticket were Quick Picks.

At the time of the drawing, 4 numbers were drawn from a pool of 100 numbers.  Those 4 numbers were compared to each set of 4 numbers on the Lotzee ticket to determine what prize(s) you may have won.

Drawings were held every Saturday at approximately 8 pm Eastern Time.  (Except when Christmas Day falls on a Saturday, in which case the drawing was held on an alternative day.)

    Odds and Prizes

    Prize LevelMatchPrizeOdds
    $500,000Match 4$500,000*1 in 3,921,225
    Match 3$1,0001 in 10,212
    Match 2$151 in 143
    $100,000Match 4$100,0001 in 1,960,613
    Match 3$501 in 511
    Match 2$31 in 7
    $50,000Match 4$50,0001 in 980,306
    Match 3$501 in 511
    Match 2$31 in 7
    $25,000Match 4$25,0001 in 653,538
    Match 3$501 in 511
    Match 2$31 in 7
    $10,000Match 4$10,0001 in 490,153
    Match 3$501 in 511
    Match 2$31 in 7

If there was more than one $500,000 prize winner, that prize was shared among all $500,000 prize winners.  When there was no top prize winner for a draw the prize money that was available, based on sales of the game for that drawing, was allocated to the reserve prize pool fund prizes in subsequent drawings.

Lucky Day. I was very curious about that. How is that game, and all those other games, played?

Lucky Day was a date-based lottery game (ie July 29, 1963).

Local Lotto was a 6/31 game in 1999 with FOUR geographic prize pools. Game played like Take Five (rolldown to 5/6 if no winner in a specific region) and free play for 3/6, but with 40% prize return.

Sure I miss lotto plus. Had a $47 million dollar prize. Biggest ever for Washington. They switched back to a 6/49 game that has gone nowhere since.

City Picks was a game where IIRC you had to give the exact order of how the names of nine Wisconsin cities were drawn.

And it was still 2 for a dollar.

Here's how this particular tournament will work. In each poll I will give the essential information on each game, because there is naturally no way of figuring it out on the internet (unless it was recent enough to be on the Internet Archive). When I ask for nominations, I will need the following information
                          • Matrix
                          • Price
                          • Prizes (Avg. or Fixed)
. I will at that point post it on each poll. This won't be for a while, so don't get too concerned right now.

                              Howdy all,

There was a game here in MO where the top prize was 1 million dollars. It lasted about a year. If memory serves me right it was a daily game. You had to come up with 6 numbers I can't remember what the ranges were (1- ?). All 6 numbers were in different machines.  You had to get two red balls correct, two blue balls correct and two white balls correct. Each machines only had one of the three different colors in it. In other words, all red balls in two different machine and the same for the other colors. You could win a couple bucks just by getting both the same colored balls correct. But like I said earlier, it was very short lived. In the amount of time the game lasted I was told there was never a million dollar winner. Does anybody remember this one? I think it was a MO state game but it may have been multi-state, not sure... I keep thinking it was called something like Lotto America, but I may have picked that up somewhere else. But that one was definitely a different type of game...

                              Bryan  :)
