The following is a description of the BLUE GAME:

          • The BLUE GAME is a new lottery game that would be available in all the states where Powerball is played.

          • Players pick 5 numbers from a field of 1-59, and 1 number from a second field of 1-59. Quick picks would also be available.

          • The Lottery will draw 5 numbers from 1-59 from the first drum, and 2 numbers from 1-59 from the second drum. A player only has to match 1 of the 2 numbers from the second drum to win.

          • Each play costs $2.

          • There are 10 different ways to win a prize.

          • Jackpots start at $15 Million and will increase if not won.

          • Drawings for the BLUE GAME would be held on Tuesdays and Fridays.

          • The second-tier prize would be available either as a $1 Million annuity OR as $500,000 cash.

          • Overall odds of winning a prize are 1:12.

            FRAUD ALERT!

            Attention Powerball Players:

It has come to our attention that fraudulent emails are being sent out promising to pay Powerball prizes. These emails are NOT from Powerball or the Multi-State Lottery Association.

This was posted on the PowerBall website, maybe CO got one of these fraudulent emails. "Hmmmm"

That chart shows two levels for 5+1 winners, jackpot and second tier.  Is that right?

I cut and pasted the table from Powerball’s Web Site without reviewing the table prior to doing so.  I am confident that the second (2nd) line should read “Match 5”.

I'm very excited about this game. We might even see some defectors from Mega Millions. I just hope they lower the price to $1.

If its jackpot is much larger than PowerBall and MegaMillions, the big jackpot chasers will defect from both games.

I highly doubt they'd lower the price to $1.  That's what Powerball is for.

They will not lower the price, because they couldn't fund the increased 2nd tier price with a $1 bet.

I am not too excited about this game.  I have no desire to pay $2 per ticket for a lotto game with such long odds, and they will certainly not lure Mega Millions players away.  It won't even be played in Mega Millions states!

I would play only when the JP is $300 million.

The idea that there will be two simultaineous games like Powerball seems really hard to believe.

Hot Lotto is even more similar to Powerball than the Blue Game is. At least the Blue Game draws 2 extra balls (let's call them Blue Balls) as opposed to 1, and has both annuity and cash prizes for matching 5. I really hope this game is televised. Will Mike Pace have double duty? Well they use the Hot Lotto machines (former Powerball machines)? Will it be played everywhere Powerball is?
