I mainly like to get a quick pick at a reference when picking my own numbers. If I don't have a good feeling about the quick pick I am given that's just x numbers I can send to the scrap heap during filtering. If I feel good about the quick pick then I will integrate the numbers from it into what I am already going to play. I still like my own numbers best for the most part. -Bonnie

Not sure how TN is set up with quick picks, but on games other than Cash 3 & 4, in Georgia you can choose part of the numbers, select quick pick and the computer chooses the rest.  Pretty good when someone reaches an impasse.

Bottom line Georgia appreciates everyone's participation in the lottery and will help them spend their lottery $$$ the easiest way possible!         Green laugh

Only when I haven't had time to work on numbers do I use quick picks because stats have shown that people who choose their own numbers win more often but those folks are in the minority.

Most people choose quick picks and that's why quick picks win more often.

      Good luck to everyone!

I like that option and have used it in the past. It seems to work pretty well with the Fantasy Five. I will pick 2 or 3 of my own numbers and let the computer pick the others. I've gotten several 3 of 5 wins off of this. -Bonnie

If there were no Quick Picks, then:

            1. Ticket counter lines would be much longer
            2. People would buy fewer tickets
            3. The state would make less money
            4. Jackpots would grow more slowly
            5. "Birthday drawing results" would produce more winners
            6. Anything else...?

Check the State Lottery Report Card
What grade did your lottery earn?

the states do right by having quick picks.like you said in the list it would make lines slower and less people would want to deal with having to fill out the slips.somebody posted that there was a time there were no quick picks so i guess states did see a surge in sales once quick picks came into being.....

I sometimes play QP but most of the time I like to use my own random numbers.  I like to say if I hit something big it came from my mind and not the computer.

How are you going to win if you don't play?

                  A couple more:

                  7)  LP would probably get a lot more site-visitors from people who wished to buy tickets, but didn't want to have to come up with numbers.

                  8)  There's also probably be a lot more sales of those little hand held digital lottery number generators you see around.

                  9)  The fortune cookie industry would be working three shifts.

NY didn't have quick-picks right away.

Do tell.  That clears up a lot of questions I'd been asking myself.

How long did it take them to begin offering them, and how much difference did the the introduction of QPs make in ticket sales?  Much contrast?

Did the jackpots roll more before the QP option?

well if you wanted to play then you'd only have one option pick your own.

they wouldn't never change the quick pick function.

NY Lotto started in 1978. Quick-pick didn't arrive until the late 1980s. Jackpots eventually did rise faster, but have slowed because of increasing disgust at the 40% maximum payback.

it is something that it took new york better than ten years after they started to think of the quick pick idea.sometimes when you look back at things that were created you think in your mind...."what took them so long to think of something as simple as that"
