I used to go the races at Del Mar years ago.  But one year they put down like 15 horses (I witnessed 2 of them).  I decided I didn't want to see that again.  They couldn't explain why, but they completely re-surfaced the track (actually down about 3 or 4 levels, if I remember correctly).  I have not been back and my daughter, who has a degree in horse training, told me that it is no wonder horses break their legs.  Look at their legs just above their hoofs ... it is very small.

Since it is legal to bet horses on line here in California, I decided to get back into it (without going to the track).  Also, the "quarter place" takes bets on horses and pays track odds plus 10%.

      Good Luck to all.
