I voted "no." I will only play the games that are ball drawn. I've quit playing the Indiana lottery when visiting family and friends there because of the switch to computer draws.

The last time I checked, the Mega Millions drawing are already computerized.  I could be wrong but I read it somewhere but I can't rightly remember the article.

According to the Mega Millions web site, it's ball drawings:

I am still trying to think of a difference with the end result.  Does it matter whether Vanna White turns the carboard, or a computer changes the color?

It's the principle of the thing. They may be just as secure as regular drawings, but the suspense and thrill is taken away, and if you take that away, they're no fun... even WITH a big jackpot on the line.

As for it already being computerized, they're not: check this out: http://www.valottery.com/megamillions/last_20.asp

I would still play powerball if the drawing was computerized because of the prize they offer because I don't have millions of dollars.  I would continue to play for the millions they are offering up in prizes.

We can land a man on the moon.  We can make a missile hit a target the size of a dime from a thousand miles away.

And yes, Virginia, we can rig a lottery through computerized drawings.

Yes, there ARE software programs and computers powerful enough in the year 2005! that can scan all the combinations players selected in the half hour BEFORE the drawing to make sure the WINNING combination selected does NOT match any of what the PLAYERS selected.  How can there not be in this day and age?

I'm personally convinced this is what happens in Delaware with its computerized Lotto.  Do I have proof?  No.  But do you need proof of the winter to know winter is coming?

The ONLY reason computerized drawings exist is to increase the states' profitability, at OUR expense.  I no longer play ANY lottery that is computerized.  If everyone followed suit, they would cease to exist because then that state would be brought to its knees.

                      Who's with me?

I'm wondering when they will turn the ball drawings into a marketing event. When MM finally breaks 300 they could have the drawing in Times square (which they did for the 290 roll) or Hollywood.

Hummm, good point. They did NYC with the $290M, but California wasn't part of the game. Now that it is, it would be a logical choice. Sooth the beast.

Ball drop drawing or nothing for me.  Cool

I want to see them fall, spin, tossed around, be randomly selected by the machine, not the some RNG behind closed doors in cyber land.

Neither game would ever get a penny from me again.  Rant

                            Good luck to everyone!

seems we keep going down the road with this topic..... giving the lottery directors some ideas. After all the effort and trouble Todd has gone through trying to get computerized drawings abolished.
