Would the 2man 5+1 be on par with a 1man 5+1 if it ever happens? I think it will happen as more members join the challenges and develop strategies to improve their picks.
The 2man 5+1 would be on a different playing field.....I believe your right RJ it will happen eventually with a 1man 5+1....however if we can get some consistancey with a 2man 5+1 (I dont believe it will be that often either) people might be able to see something that they have missed......I would have thought for sure that picking 15 wb's and 5 mb's would have seen some 5+0 and 5+1's but it hasn't yet......I'm just looking to see how many wb's and mb's a person would need (using there own system and a little help) to hit a 5+1 more than once....as much as I like bragging rights playing this game, I think I know what we are all after here.....
fja,
I agree, consistency is needed regardless of the group size and a group of 15+5 may not be large enough for that. I did some calculations below for both MegaMillions and PowerBall and matching a 5+1 is like hitting a straight pick4 with one line and matching a 5+0 is like hitting a straight pick3 with one line. In the pick3 section, players think they're lucky if they get a box hit with 20 lines, but then they're trying for $50 and we're trying for millions of dollars. I've been experimenting with a 30+10 group and picking the top 15+5 from that group for the challenge.
MegaMillion 5/56 + 1/46 = 175,711,536 possible combinations PowerBall 5/55 + 1/42 = 146,107,962 possible combinations Challenges 5/15 + 1/5 = 15015 combination of 5+1 covered Challenges 5/15 + 0 = 3003 combinations of 5+0 covered Odds of 15015 combinations matching 5+1 - MM = 1:11,702 , PB = 1:9,737 Odds of 3003 combinations matching 5+0 - MM = 1:1,272 , PB = 1:1,158
After having 0+0 a few times, I'm not sure those calculations are real, I get a 2+1 and think I'm on to something and then I get a 0+0 and learn I'm not.

i'm not real good with the statistical side of things here so don't hold me to the claim above.i think one person that picks 25 white balls though would definitely hit it sooner or later.the team thing is an interesting concept though.....

LOTTOMIKE,
With 20 WB + 5 MB/PB you would increase your coverage 516%, but saying you could and actually doing it are two different things. Maybe you should start posting such a group in the LOTTOMIKE MM/PB challenges and see what happens. Good luck to you.

I would rather continue with 15/5 or increase to 18/6, not 20/5 because I think there's a better chance of matching the MB if I went to 18/6 format. However fja, the individual challenge stays on!

I wouldn't change the current format , in fact everybody should just play the way they have been and i will accumulate the data and set up a seperate post if I see something happening again....We're half way through the year let's finish what we started and If I see a 5+1 combination out of the drawing winners I will make note of it, thats all.

fja, there's a new condition in MM. If MM Jackpot is 30+ million, but CA SLP Jackpot is 48+ million, then I must continue start setting up MM challenges until a CA SLP jackpot wins!
