Cleveland....>>>>Farmington Hills?
That's a trip.
I'll catch up with you at 9Mile/Middlebelt!

Yep, one-day business trips. Interchange drive, if that rings a bell.

I usually stop at a Starbucks and some hot-dog joint (Koney Island?) by some mall..Gold Oaks?

I'm also in Livonia, Southfield, Plymouth frequently.

I used to stay at Howard Johnson's on Euclid when I was selling in Cleveland. That was back around 1968 - I think it was located on Euclid.   And there was a Holiday Inn not much farther, stayed there sometimes.   LOL

And I mean this in the most respectful way truecritic: The only thing on my mind in 1968 was a clean diaper and something to eat.

Euclid Ave. is changing daily with this new Cleveland revitalization effort that's underway. There is no Howard Johnson on Euclid anymore. As a matter of fact, I cannot recall ever seeing a HJ on Euclid.

Aww...you don't have to be nice to an old man!  LOL

It probably is long gone.  I think all of our Howard Johnson's in this area disappeared long ago too.  Can't tell you much about cross streets or anything.  It would be quite a bit East of Case Western and the Holiday Inn was within walking distance of Howard Johnson.  Used to be a small restaurant run by a Greek named Chris a few miles west.  Best rye bread ever.  He got it from some local bakery - each loaf was about 3 ft long.  I use to bring some back home with me.

Maybe some old timer reading this can add useful info.

The area you visit in Farmington Hills is about 6-7 miles from me.

Our plant is a stone's throw from Case Western. I travel that parkway everyday for lunch. Cross streets would include Martin Luther King Blvd, Wade Oval, Mayfield Rd, Stokes Blvd.  I don't know about any local bakeries in that area (other than in little Italy on Murray Hill) so I can't add anything useful. Let's see if these ring a bell....Gallucci's? Mama Santo's? How about Corbo's bakery? If you have ever eaten a cannolli in Cleveland, chances are, it came from Corbo's.

Other than some of the new architecture revolving around Case Western, the area looks as it did when I was a kid. Chances are, if you ever visited again, you would agree.
