We are at the $200m door.  It would be interesting if Powerball and MegaMillions could both crack the $300m mark at the same time.  Does any LP member know if the two have ever been over the $300m mark at the same time?

No. MegaMillions only hit 300 once. The Big Game broke 300 but not at the same time as Powerball.

Megamillions has also never rolled once it passed the 300 mark.

Do you mean for this run? It will definitely break 400 eventually, and so will MM. It's just a question of when. They'll eventually break 500 too, and MM will probably get there well ahead of PB since the cap means it may have to reach record levels 6 times to pass 500.

Including the current draw, PB needs to sell about 196 million more tickets to fund a $300 million dollar annuity, which would be about $140 million cash. Probability predicts about 1.3 winners for that many tickets.

Including the current draw, MM needs to sell about 310 million tickets to fund a $300 million dollar annuity, which would be about $172 million  cash. Probability predicts about 1.8 winners for that many tickets. To pay the same $140 million as PB at 300 MM only needs to reach an annuity of about 244, which requires selling about 203 million tickets. Probability then predicts only 1.15 winners, so MM has the better chance than PB does of paying out $140 million on this roll.

For those who use the annuity values as a yardstick PB looks like it has had more big jackpots, but in the cash that all of the winners have taken the November MM is the biggest at about $182 million about $5 million ahead of the recent PB "record".Other big payouts are fairly evenly split between PB and MM.

I still  ask the 2 question:

            1.  Which of the "current runs will crack the $300 mark MM, PB and/or Euro?  But Euro has been hit in the current run since I posted the original question.  So its out.

            2. Has MM and PB been over the $300 mark at the same time?

This should be a telling week.  I think both of these will roll at least two more times each.

Well on this current run, there is only one left at the possibility of a $300m jackpot - MegaMillions.  I hope at least 2 more runs happen, and we may have a record jackpot!

If Mega can roll three more times, we may very well see a $400 million jackpot. I bet it will happen, just because Powerball did not make it over $300 million this time. It's a conspiracy.

Looks like the correct answer is none. Mega millions is just another mega disappointment. Yet another run failing to go to 300 million. Amazing a game with those odds only cracked the 300 ceiling once and never rolled past the 300 level.

So much for my conspiracy theory.
