Thanx for answering.

Unfortunately I don't have internet on my phone.

It's Metro PCS. I'm sure I can upgrade my membership with them too.

If I keep upgrading, at this rate, I should be the King of  the world very soon. A poster child representing the epitamy and the exemplification of a finely tuned machine......LOL

I did explain that in great detail.  Please read my post above.

Awesome, Todd! Thanks! Is there a way to get your private messages, too? I don't have time to experiment with it right now, maybe later...

            Thanks again!

No, not now, because that would require logging in, along with all the security stuff I mentioned.

I've made some improvements to Lottery Post Mobile, the web site for use with mobile devices like cell phones and PDAs.

At this point I've pretty much finished all the work on the forums (the features are complete).  The mobile features are as follows:

                • The goal of any mobile application is quick and simple access to valuable features and information, so Lottery Post Mobile focuses on only things that are simple to do, and do not require a lot of typing.  Basically, everything should be accessible by moving the arrow control on the device and "clicking" the OK button.
                • The mobile version of the forums is for displaying the discussions, not for posting into the forums.  Having a posting function would be way too much for a mobile device, and would require some sophisticated security measures to make sure that everyone's membership account was totally secure.  The amount of overhead to do all of that would be completely overbearing on the whole thing, so I definitely did not want to put any kind of forums posting capability into it.
                • You can browse the last 20 topics that have messages posted in them.  You can either see the last 20 topics for all the forums, or the last 20 topics in the forum of your choosing.  For example, if you change the forum to the Pick 3 forum, it will display the last 20 topics that have activity in the Pick 3 forum.
                • When viewing a topic thread, it starts at the most recent posting and works backwards each time you click the Previous Post link, until you reach the original post in the topic.

The next piece I will be coding is the results section, which will allow you to see lottery results for any game.  I'll probably also allow you to see the last week of results for any game.

To me, there's a certain coolness about being able to see all this stuff on my cell phone!

To go the Lottery Post Mobile on your mobile device, you can type the URL mobile.lotterypost.com into the URL entry space in your device's web browser.  If you go to the regular URL www.lotterypost.com, it should detect that you are using a mobile device and automatically redirect you to Lottery Post Mobile.  If it doesn't detect your mobile device, just type the URL starting with "mobile...."

And if you're like me, you'll want full and complete access to the LP without these restrictions. If so, see if you can download a program called pixel browzer onto your cell phone / PDA phone. I have the Samsung i730 and it came with pixel browser. It works just like a web browser but its so much more powerfull. You can do everything you do from your laptop / desktop; post, private message, edit your blog....everything. The neat thing about this program is it has a zoom feature. If you are having difficulty reading, you can zoom in on a thread simply by double tapping and dragging the screen with a stylus or your finger.

I learned a long time ago that there is no way to please everybody, so I don't try.  I just try to do what I think is best.

Awe hell, you're doing a fine job man. You can't please everyone. Folks need to learn to improvise. That mobile site is great and serves a great purpose. Not everyone has a pda, so in that respect, the mobile version provides the pertinent info without overloading the cell phone. I'm fortunate to have one and to have the ability to use the tools available....just sharing the knowledge.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...thanks for making the mobile version; I know many of us appreciate it.

Now, see if you can add audio avatars to the site. I want to be able to hear some Zeppelin when I open up a thread from Pacattack. :o)

Of course I wouldn't disable anything, I'm just trying to learn about what's being used to access the site, and how it responds.  Mobile web development is an art form -- a pain in the neck art form -- but still an art form.

                              Lottery Post Mobile Home Page

For those without mobile devices that's what the mobile page looks like (the home page)

                              Lottery Post Mobile results page

That's what the results page looks like currently.

                              Lottery Post Mobile discussion page

That's what the discussion page looks like. You can view the discussions but not post or log in. That may not be available because of the limitations in mobile web browsers.

                              Lottery Post mobile about page

                              That is the about page.

All are screenshots taken by a qwest 6700 phone running windows mobile 5, pocket internet explorer 4.

Only thing I see missing would be a list of the current jackpots. Just thought I would show those without mobile devices what the sire looks like on a much smaller screen.
