thats good advice i just might do that.in fact i'll do a search on it.the reason i did this was because a member said tonight at 1am on msnbc that they were doing a segment on the government banning online gambling.thought i'd do a poll see what everyone thinks.i'll scrap the poll if its against todds wishes.but if he is alright with it i would like to see the results.i think this is a good poll.sort of like the immigration poll i did.

Why would you want to ban it? people could have changed their opinions since the last poll post.

Apparently someone is trying to give you a hard time.. Use your powers.. block their posts.. it is a way of life..

ThudWhy do a poll on - if online gaming will become illegal when it is already illegal? What?

Tenaj, I think what he means is "Will the gov start raiding players homes and throwing them in prison just for playing online".  yes it is technically illegal now, but as I understand it no players have ever been arrested for it in the USA.  So it is basically still legal now.  The new bill will charge even the players with a federal offense.  So things will be totally different than they are now.

Ain't nuthun wrong with the poll, Mike. Thanks for posting the thread.

If, once we beat a topic to death it had to lie there dead with a lily on its chest for people to dig up and look at and sniff, instead of discussing it again, this forum would be dead with a lily on its chest.

Nobody's been appointed Sargeant Major to call cadence for what you post a poll about and what you don't.

You can take that to the bank.

Justxploring....funny about the "no-see bubble of your car"....they can't see me so I can pick.     Big Grin

I don't have one of those no-see bubbles, but I try to remember to do it anyway for the red-light camera watchers.

Same as I make it my business to go outdoors and give a single fingered salute at the sky when I hear a helicopter coming over.  Just in case they happen to be looking down.

I'm not sure why some folks seem to believe they'll look better trying to kick you around.  You seem to be a middling harmless, courteous, nice guy starting quite a number of threads that get a lot of response.

Maybe it's just the yapping dog syndrome that comes with the full moon (every day of the month for some folks).  Or maybe it's wossname, that other thing.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

Although it is sad but true.  I have worked with people who have a hard time accepting their own lives, they are always finding a way to cut at someone else.  A happy person finds happy thoughts.. Unfortunately the world isn't full of only happy people. I do believe it is a choice.. There forth, I choose not to let this misery in these people rain on my parade.

i will not miss online lotteries anyways. Have you seen what they look like?i've seen a couple of them year ago. And most of them are pick6 1 to 45, 49 or 52. Who is going to get that right. And the latest thing now is to make games be accompanied with bonus balls which makes the game's odds go higher. Let me give you an example, a pick6 game with no bonus ball from 1 to 59 has the odds of 45,057,474 while a pick6 game that selects 5 numbers from 1 to 46 and a bonus ball from 1 to 33 (thus pick6) has the odds of 45,234,882 and 13 numbers less than the other. The odds are almost the same odds, even though one has 13 numbers less to choose from than the other, it has a bonus ball wich makes the odds go higher....

They never put a game like pick7 from 1 to 36 or pick6 from 1 to 25, they always make something like pick6/7 from 1 to 45/50/60/65....They used to be an online lottery called world wide lotto that i think operated from costa rica and you had to pay through credit card but through the years dissapeared...it was a pick6 from 1 to 45/49...guys i believe pick6 has ridiculously too many combinations..
Third, i don't know if this is going to help, but i once corresponded through email with a top manager of a casino, and she told me the following. She told me that, lottery was considered by the state to be gambling but what you play in a casino was not considered gambling. She say something about games in a casino to be games of chance but lottery was not....

Trust a casino manager to clarify the difference between 'gambling' (scratchers, jackpot games, pick 3s, etc.) and 'games of chance' (slots, roulette, craps).

Thanks for sharing that.  I can't imagine how I've lived this long and never saw the difference.
