That anecdote about old Inga Henegan (died a few years ago, so it's okay to use her name, I 'speck) is something I hadn't thought of in a couple of decades.
In those days somebody admitting they'd been a Hitler Youth was something to rattle the brain. I used to absolutely despise Inga, though we were somewhat civil to one another and had a lot of heated, sometimes loud arguments about Germany and Hitler and Gestapo and freedom and liberty and something we in America used to call 'individual rights'.
Weirdly enough, I suppose I don't feel as strongly negative about Inga as I used to. She was no different in her attitudes than most Americans I know today, except she happened to be talking about Germany instead of America.
We're accustomed to vilify Hitler and Germany and the Gestapo and the Hitler Youth. Because we've been taught to do so.
Trouble is, Germany during the 3rd Reich is too far away in time, too distant, too abstract..... too easy to despise without noticing that what we condemn in those Nazis (because they're somehow non-human) we have no difficulty at all cheering in our own country, calling it something to be proud of.
Thus far they've taken care not to call Homeland Security, or the DEA, the Brown Shirts, or the Gestapo. But have you noticed the combat helmets US soldiers wear today? Wehrmacht helmets. Small symbols sometimes speak volumes.

All things are right when they are examined in the first person (our group, our cause, etc.) but the real examination is made from the third person perspective (their group, their cause, etc.). Usually the third person perspective is the accurate one.

Posted 4/6: IL Pick 3 midday and evening until they hit: 555, 347 (str8).

You bring up interesting questions. I'd never asked myself whether anyone was making a livig off pick 3 or pick 4.

It got me nosing around in the winner pages, looking to see how things ran over there.
- I made the assumption the people who'd be making a living at it would also be betting the same numbers they put up as predictions
- I assumed they'd show up with enough wins last year for a person to live in a style Americans think is required of them to go to heaven
- I assumed they'd have enough margin between the wins during the month, and the losses, to be thought of as a monthly income.
Operating under those premises, it ain't happening to any LP predictor on pick 3 games.

But it just MIGHT be for some predictors on pick 4.

Not the folks you might have imagined, either.

I came away from that with a whole different picture in my mind about who the people probably are who answered it would definitely hurt them.

Actually, that got me thinking about something else, also.

For some reason Lottery Queen doesn't choose to put up predictions on the prediction page, though it would be an absolute blessing to all those fans of hers. Make it easier for them to see her predictions for any given state without having to wade through 9000 posts per day.

It happens I have a blank prediction history on pick 3 and Pick 4.

What I'm thinking is I might help Lottery Queen out by posting every prediction she makes for a state over there on my prediction page, so's it will be available to everyone easy, and so they can see how well she's doing. Daily, monthly, yearly.

Heck, I could use some help bringing my prediction percentages up.

Hmmmmm. Gonna have to think hows the best way to progress with that.

Might start a thread announcing each time I put up one of her predictions.
Then, I might use the same thread to demonstrate how much money she made for everyone the previous day.
Maybe some other premium members would want to help with that, split up the workload a bit.
Community effort, so to speak.
It would make for a nice thread, and we'd all enjoy enormous improvements in our prediction statistics.
I don't want to hog the glory.

i can see where someone could make a nice living off betting online because of the higher payouts.if you hit just one pick 4 then thats 9,000 dollars.that kind of money can get a person by for quite a while if they don't live like a king,lol.

Judging from the prediction stats I'd guess there might be enough LP members doing it so's you could count them on one hand, with maybe a finger or two left to type.

i've hit 2,250 dollars twice online but never hit that 9,000 dollar mark yet.i'll be very happy if i did hit it for nine grand.

yep jack.lets just hope we all can continue to be able to have the freedom to do this online.the latest poll is showing it would hurt quite a few people if the law is passed.
