Hello,

I'll get right to it...

Just wondering if anyone could figure out how many different combinations from the information below:

If I picked 45 numbers from the 70 in Keno and thought that 10 out of the 20 winning numbers were in the 45 that I picked, what are the different combinations that I would need to have in a group of 10 per ticket?
Eg:
45 Numbers I Picked from 70
1,3,4,5,6,7,9,11,14,16,17,18,19,21,22,24,25,28,29,30,32,35,36,
42,43,44,45,47,48,49,51,52,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66
How many tickets would I have to purchase to get 10 out of 10 from the 20 drawn?
Could you provide me with the formula to generate all possible combinations?

Thanks,
Paul
P.S. The reason why I'm asking is, that I came up with a new system by mistake. So, far I have been able to get 10-14 numbers correct from the 45 I picked, going back to the year 2001.

I think that must be the crux of your question.  People here know a lot about how to figure such things out.  Hopefully one of them will know how to come up with the number of tickets required to cover the waterfront.

Here is an example from previous Keno draws:

My system picked 46 out of the 70 numbers.

      2,5,7,10,3,4,6,9,1,13,15,19,14,18,11,17,25,27,24,30,28,21,29,34,35,
      21,36,49,47,42,48,44,45,51,60,55,56,58,59,57,52,64,62,65,61,67

      The 20 winning numbers were:

      4,11,12,15,16,17,27,29,31,35,36,41,43,44,49,50,52,53,55,57

As you can see, my system successfully picked 13 correct numbers from the 45.

I've run my system on every draw going back to the year 2001 and each time I have been able to correctly pick 10-14 numbers from the 45 that I have choosen.

Now, this is where I need help. I need someone to figure out how many 10 number combinations I would need from all 45 numbers.

well your first ticket would be this( if you are using a base set of numbers) that do not change

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-16

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-17

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-18

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-19

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-21

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-22

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-24

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-25

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-28

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-29

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-30

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-32

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-35

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-36

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-42

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-43

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-44

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-45

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-47

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-48

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-49

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-51

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-52

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-55

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-56

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-57

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-58

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-59

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-60

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-61

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-62

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-63

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-64

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-65

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-14-66

now it goes to this set

        1-3-4-5-6-7-9-11-16-17

                                          18

                                          19

                                        etc.

        ......

        ....

        ....

        ....

        ...

        ....

        ....

YOUR VERY LAST COMBINATION SHOULD BE THE VERY LAST 10 NUMBERS IN THE GROUP..

        57-58-59-60-61-62-63-64-65-66

Dont know the entire total of the set..but it is going to be a BUNCH..

A full wheel on pick 5 for 15 numbers is 3003 tickets.

A full wheel on a pick 10 game, 15 numbers ought to be what?  9000 tickets?

For 30 numbers it ought to be 81,000 tickets.

For 45, something in the range of 650,000 and some change, give or take?

I might be off by half a million or so, but I think I'm closer than that.

I started playing with it on Excel for a bit.  Here's what it looked like before it used up all my RAM:

If you had a few years to spend at it, plenty of money to buy tickets that a win would be less than, you could do it on Excel just walking it down the line this way:

I've been thinking some more about this.

The answer ought to be 45 squared times 10.

On the other hand, it ought to be somewhat less than that because the draws are for 20 numbers and you only have to hit ten of them.

The answer is 45 to the tenth power.  Multiply 45 ten times ( 45 x 45 x 45...ect.) and you will have your answer.

Paul you would require A VERY LARGE SET to wheel all the possible combo's in 45 numbers. Best to use Dancing numbers or bankers and / or reduce the 45 numbers.

Not wanting to burst your bubble - i play the Ontario keno also - but on AVERAGE a set of 45 numbers, even picked randomly, should hit about 13 / 20 most of the time. So you’re just hitting the average.

What system you using if i may ask?

ps. still waiting on Guru to fix lottosynch to work with keno - don't hold your breath DisapproveLOL

I have an Excel macro that will search an Excel table of pre-loaded Keno winning numbers for whatever set of numbers I choose to search with.

Problem is, I need to 'dream up' a set of 6, 7 or 8 numbers to search WITH: those I plug into the search criteria, and so far, the ones I have dreamed up for a pick 6 or pick 8 do not hit on any of the 1,500 games I have in the table.

I have not gotten around to writing a macro that will just search the entire table and give me a list of pick 8's that have hit more than one time.  I'm trying to find 6 numbers that have hit 7 or 8 times in 1,500 games, or 8 numbers that have hit 3 or 4 times in 1,500 games.  Consistently.

this free excel sheet can search from 2 to 6 ntuplets and spit out which have hit the most. It can also do what come after, etc and some other neat stuff.

                          Hey, Paul :)

Look in Excel formulas and find COMBIN.

In the top window {number} put in the field of numbers(45)

and {number_chosen} put in amount you wish to play(10).

You can easily find that there are 3,190,187,286 different

combo's with using 45 numbers. Way too many to be profitable!

I usually look at yesterday's drawn numbers and discard them

leaving 50 to choose from. I know some will repeat but 10-16

numbers will usually "catch" in that field!

The trick is knowing which ones!

Hope this helps!! Good luck to everyone here @LP!

                          Cheers....

                              Retxx:

You might watch your draws Friday for any of these sets hitting.

If you see any of them hit, pretend you bought a ticket with a mix from sets 1 and 2, and watch again.

Really soon, within a couple of three draws you'll see another set hit.  If that happens it might be a good time to buy tickets with a mix from sets 1, 2, and 4.

                              Set 1
                              13 15 20 21 31 35
                              Set 2
                              40 41 42 48 39 8
                              Set 3
                              16 24 34 30 38 68
                              Set 4
                              4 18 44 45 56 59

I don't know whether this will work or not.  I've only looked at daily draws.  So, I would suggest watching a while before you buy any tickets, and if it doesn't appear to be working you can blow it off without it costing anything.

My thought is that those 4 sets will be hitting frequently all day.

The sequences of any set hitting (I theorize) will be followed by a draw with a strong mix of sets 1 and 2, with a weak mix of set 4 possibly thrown in.

But I could be way off here.  I don't think there's any danger of you trusting me on this.  But if you feel tempted, don't.

                              Good luck
