I just have a question, if someone has claimed the money on a scratch off at one place and someone else tried to cash it in at another place, would they be able to tell? Is it legal?

once a ticket is validated through machine and paid out - can't pay on it again.

Emily is correct. (of course, she's a very wise person!)  She's a lot nice than I am, however, and I simply had to put my 2 cents in and comment that this is a very strange question for someone who just joined today.  Anyway, of course it wouldn't be legal, even if it was somehow possible to collect the money. Stealing is never legal.

LOL! A question like that makes one think that Nichole has larceny in her heart...

Around here the Lottery Agent making the payout retains the Ticket.

larceny: the unlawful taking of another's property with intent to defraud the owner; theft
