An open letter to “Our Town Without Pity”

Prior a devastating stroke rendering my sister Marilyn unable to use her left side and with little vision in her left eye, she was a true friend to many of you, a loyal customer to your local businesses, and she supported your annual donation drives.

For four years Marilyn has struggled daily in an uphill battle to remain as independent as one can in a wheelchair in a body that seemed to ignore her pain medications and in one that recognized only her right side.

Since August, almost three months ago, she has dealt with a downhill hope and spirit. Having the good fortune to rub out a winning instant Lifetime Riches game that produced one big LIFE with $5,000 a week for life underneath, was it true!!! Her pain was paramount and the ticket was not secured.

When sometime later, realizing the ticket was AWOL after frantic searches, the wastebasket next to the bed seemed logical always wrapped and discarded separately. We called the Director of Public Works and the Superintendent of Sanitation, and after a thorough investigation, they assured me neither the boys nor the driver found anything. The police ignored us.

The ticket was taken out of the NJ State's computers as a winner, and eveyone wondered where was the payout.

Accidentally, I learned a large winning ticket was claimed in August at a local pharmacy which did not sell that game. I called NJLottery with details of Sis’s ticket, and a ticket batch audit produced a winner matching all details. However, the validation site and the claimant changed. It was a winner, then before our purchase, then after our purchase, finally to the ticket never existed. Even another name was superimposed over the scratched out original name. The total number of tickets printed, sold and still remaining for sale on that game did not add up per Public Records figures from NJL.

Supposedly this non-existent ticket has recently been straddled with some County officials’ names, that local pharmacy, a restaurant, our annual donation recipients and even a neighbor or two with whom I spoke about the ticket and some other people known or unknown to us. There seemed to be deep pockets from our home via the circuitous route of Colonia and County and straight to the NJLottery to the Treasury Department, metamorphosing en route. It was a bad ticket and covered up.

Some reading this may have joined in a deceptive claim that was not a prepaid group effort, only group greed. Some may know what happened and are unwilling or afraid to buck those who claimed it. And, some had the principles to pass. Or, it is a first time awareness.

Perhaps someone or two will have the courage to come forward to give my sister back her life and her prize to help her as a handicapped woman challenged in a non-handicapped world.

Life is not written in stone, and paralysis is not selective. Finders, keepers; losers, weepers! You left my sister sitting in the rain.

LMM and MAY

I am sorry that your life and your sister's life is messed up.  I am here at Lottery Post almost every day for at least two hours a day.  You took a lot of flack from members here including myself who thought your story was a lie or you were misleading us.  But enough is enough!  I for one do not want to here you continue to post the same post here periodically.  I would like for you to be apart of lottery post and contribute in some way.  But posting the same message in your blog and in a forum is double posting and you should not do that.  You should not beat a horse when the horse is dead because the horse is DEAD!-weshar75

I was thinking the same thing.

Why isn't '60 Minutes' covering this ?  It seems right up their alley unless, or course, they are part of the 'cover-up' as well.

noodle ize me. I thought a blog would get on the net, not only here.  Am new to this.  I just wanted to say it was not made up.  It is a dead horse.  I am going to put some figures as  stats on the number of tickets Public Records tried to push off  as to the printing of this game.  There are exact ratios on the number of tickets that must be printed to protect the prizes.  did not add up.   more to follow.  gotta go.

please go into instant games and read statistics on what NJL is giving to me.  They tried to say there were only 3 first prize tier winners, but there were more as they couldn't have printed out only 463,400 additional tickets to water down the winnings.  There were only 2 previous winners, Sept 2005 and July 2006.  We had 3td ticket, which was rendered extinct.  Then Sept 2, a man won in Summit, NJ and that was declared the third winner and all prizes were deemed to be paid out.  On Aug 13, 3 prizes remained, Aug 14 it went to 2, so on Spt 2, 06 it should have been 1 remaining, but then that disappeared from the computer, and any more printings were denied...  Hello in Lottoland, where did the other 2,236,600 that manditorily needed to be printed to have that 4th ticket in a ratio of 6:1 go??????.  They say so themselves.  Guys and gals, help me out.  My dead horse is stinking more.

Just the facts, just the facts.  If I could get my hands on facts and a paper trail instead of senior instinct, 60 Minutes would be mild.  It is so tragic so see my sister go downhill and in so much pain and one of the in on it neighbors lights candles for us at church.  Just look at the figures above and either yea or nay.  Does something not add up????????  There has to be a math major in this group.    gotta go.

People who think they should have won a large lottery prize in spite of the fact that they can't even prove they even bought the ticket are not unique.  Lotteries commissions in every state get many such claims every year.  Here in Ohio some have gone as far as to file a police report and after a full investigation, the kindest thing that could be said about them is they were mistaken.  Lorramil, lottery prizes aren't rewarded based on need, you have to have the winning ticket and posting a bunch of sob stories at LP is not going to change that.  If you think you have a case, take it up with your lottery commission, no one here is going to do it for you.  Good luck to you.

                 * you don't need to buy more tickets, just buy a winning ticket *

This same story was posted on Sept. 3rd.

What is the motivation for posting this story again?

Money.  Not from a legitimate lottery win but from some poor sap at Lottery Post.  You must have gotten greased last time you did this or you wouldn't be here today with the same sob story.

I didn't believe you on Sept. 3rd and I believe you even less today.

rigk g.  did not get greased, got burned.  i'm still hoping for your omaha'.  Look at the figures on the lottery tickets that they say they printed.  no match on numbers,  some tickets are  gone somewhere under.

Getting burned was pretty much your own doing, so I fail to see your need to rehash a dead issue.

If you cannot produce a ticket, then you didn't win, pure and simple, regardless of all the tickets printed or not printed, end of story.

You can argue all day and all night about numbers that don't add up, still, if you don't have the winning ticket, you didn't win.

I don't understand people that come here, get absolutely hammered, and still come back for more ?
