Doesn't "just put it all in the bank" kind of knock out "all of the above"?

     What?

No. You put it in the bank and disperse as needed from there.

    Good Luck!

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I'd put it in the bank!

You are smart to want to put it away, but if you ever win it would be a good idea to put some of it into the stock market. You wouldn't need to buy individual stocks, just put it in a good mutual fund like the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund.

Interesting you brought up that mutual fund murdoog.  I have Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund in my portfolio for my 403b, and it has done awesome this past year.

You could put a decent chunk of money in that mutual fund and completely forget about it, and be amazed at the results a year or more down the road.

After the past couple of weeks I think I'd just be happy to pay off my bills, relax and then volunteer to help children. There's a city about an hour from my home that has many migrant farmers who live 3 families to a trailer and have barely enough to survive. So many people I've met lately are kind and loving yet have so little.  Imagine what joy on Christmas someone with so much money could give to a needy family. It's warm here, but I remember when Johnny Carson would tearfully read the letters to the post office. One boy wrote to Santa and asked for new socks for his sister.

I'd invest most of it in gold and foreign currencies (especially the euro) in anticipation of the inevitable collapse of the US dollar! Just one more reason why no winner should EVER choose annuity (dollars may be no more by the end of 26 years)!!

Of course, if I'm wrong and the US experiences deflation instead (which, under Bernacke, is less likely to happen than me winning Powerball or Mega Millions)...

There is more and more talk about the "Amero", a planned joint currency for Canada, thje US, and Mexico.  "Tin hat" I know, but sure would play heck with things I think.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Multi-country currencies may become more of a trend if the euro can hold as a world currency reserve.

Gold would probably be a good investment since it is always going up in the long run. I have a few Gold Eagles graded MS 70 in my banks SDB. I see them going up alot in the future. Not an expert at it just my thoughts.
