So it's all pretty new, huh? I still think it's a great idea and hope it's here to stay.

I just took a look on our Calif. site here and it says tickets are $5.00 a number. There's 5,000,000 tickets being sold and as of this moment 4,693,157 are still available. Doesn't sound like it's caught fire yet, haha.

lottolaughs...regarding the California numbers, those are the results for only the first day of sales.  That means they sold over 300,000 tickets in one day.  Way too early to say whether or not this will be a successful game, although it looks like they are off to a good start!

As Rick pointed out, it's a guaranteed $5,000,000 for the state, as long as all the tickets are sold, a bookie's dream!

Also think of it this way, it's a $20 sale as opposed to a $1 sale.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I don't want to knock the CA lottery raffle, but personally I like the 500,000 ticket format.  I wouldn't play it if it was more than that.

Regardless of what probability and odds theorists say, it's a lot easier being a winner in a 500,000 ticket raffle than it is in a 5,000,000 ticket raffle.

        Just my opinion.

          Couldn't agree more,Rick! I mean there's an awful big difference between 500,000 and 5,000,000,YIKES!

I think I'll sit this one out and spend my $20 on SuperLotto while everyone's away with their raffle! Think my odds will be any better?  LOL.......

Not a bad idea, Brenda...best time to catch the big fish is when the other fisherman are busy making sardine sandwiches for lunch.
