Today's race is the 7th at Santa Anita.  San Luis Obispo Hdcp.  Grade II    Purse $150K    1 1/2M (T)    4up

This is a marathon on the turf.  The 1 1/2 mile distance will be a difficult assignment for the young 4 year old I have picked on top, # 8 Obrigado (4/1), but like a "Jelly-of-the-Month Club" membership...he just keeps on giving.  Must include him in the gimmicks (last nine races average beaten lengths is 1.75 and average finish position is 2.44).  The favorite, # 7 Notable (5/2), is the main competition and also runs well on the grass...plus he has a distance advantage today.  Challenging the top two will be # 3 Runaway Dancer (6/1) and # 2 One Off (7/2).

8 - 7 - 3 - 2

Good luck!

Posted 4/6:  IL Pick 3 midday and evening until they hit:  555, 347 (str8).

This is a tough race Rick.

Very close for me, but I like the #2 to prevail in a close race with the #7/8

      2-8-7 / 2-7-8

Maddog, yes it is an interesting race.  The top 3 contenders all ran in the same race last and finished 1-2-3 in that one separated by only 1 1/2 lengths at the finish.  The distance of this race will be the key.  I think #7 and #2 have the advantage there. # 8 has a class advantage and I think he'll find himself playing the role of pace presser today so he should be in a good position heading for home.  Can he last that long is the only question.

        Good luck!
